Shopping is something we cannot do without in our daily lives. We shop for various reasons, and for a lot of individuals, there are diverse motivations for shopping. Saying that all women love shopping would be a stereotype if I would say. However, shopping can be a pleasure and enjoyment for some people regardless of their gender. We have some men who love shopping too and one would wonder if they are men or women in disguise 🤔.

In our world today, we have tagged women to love shopping more than men and one reason I would likely attach to it is that we all believe women are more into fashion and trends and want to look more beautiful to their men, because we feel when it comes to a man, he is less concerned of how he looks, what he has or not. Ladies want to add to their collections and are mostly in one party to another. Aside from this, shopping is different entirely because some people shop only for the important needs of the house. To others, they shop extravagantly for many reasons such as for social interaction, peer group influence, expressing themselves through fashion and the pleasure of acquiring new things.

Every new thing keeps showing up as a trend and most ladies want to be updated with it thereby not wanting to be behind the world, so they go shopping to feel among and to also have the pride of showing off that they also are in town and not outdated. With this, lots of ladies go into impulsive buying and shopping extravagantly. A lot of my gender just want to increase their collections and to keep seeing them around. For this, they shop every moment to keep up with the collections.

I wouldn't say I don't like shopping because it is necessary and important for me to shop. Going to the market to get what I need for my self-care is something of necessity because, of course, it is what I need. I am not one to shop every time but only do that once in a while, and that is why when I go shopping, I do it in bulk and to reduce spending more than what is expected. The thrill of going into the supermarket, mall or market to get groceries is something enjoyable to me but it is only done when I need them and not when I feel like owning things and wanting to feel belong with others.

Many ladies are caught up in the trap of peer pressure that they just want to shop every time just because they see others doing it without working on their budget and finances. Shopping to them is like catching up with friends and creating a bond while having fun as it is seen as a social activity.

Another reason is that of wanting to explore the new things being added to stock and experience how to bargain for prices. This is why some ladies only go out for window shopping just to have a view of what is new and be able to understand the act of bargains between consumer and retailer. These categories of ladies apply wisdom on what to buy at a certain period, understanding that bargaining is one way to keep to budget while working on their way of spending.

Shopping is something thrilling and enjoyable but one should be careful not to be caught in the web of shopping extravagantly thereby adding what is not important. In this current economy with its high inflation on prices of goods, it is necessary to sit back and think before going for any shopping because price keeps increasing every day.
