A couple of weeks ago, my family and I decided to embark on a new adventure; this time we chose the crystal-clear waters of Tocuchare Beach as our destination, so amid the sand, waves, and sea breeze, we had an unforgettable time. It’s a quintessential tourist spot; in this case, we arrived at the stretch of beach near the school, the sports field, and the bus stop.
Tocuchare has grown significantly over the years: from a fishing beach with humble dwellings, it has become a residential community with modern homes, a few shops, and a guesthouse with all the amenities. On the beach, there were several huts for beachgoers to enjoy; we set up there to get out of the sun and admire the scenery.
Alma loves the beach, so she was happy playing with her grandmother; they spent their time making sand figures and even some castles with plastic molds. Among her discoveries, she found a little crab scuttling across the sand; she picked it up and proudly brought it over to me so I could take a picture of it—her little antics always amuse me.
The beach was completely calm; it looked as blue as the sky, and you could feel a sense of absolute well-being in this setting. For me, this represents a much-needed break from everyday life and the hustle and bustle of the city, which can be overwhelming with all the different problems we have to face. Nature has the power to bring us back to the essentials of life and, therefore, to be grateful for every day we’re here.
My dad and Alma took the opportunity to have some fun with a boat that was near the shore; it belonged to some fishermen from the community who were nearby, working on repairs to another boat. From the hut, I could hear the little girl’s laughter and see her unique “Peace and Love” pose as she asked me to take her picture. Without a doubt, her innocence brings joy to the hearts of the whole family and helps us forget our worries for a while.
Tocuchare is relatively close to Cumana, so it’s highly recommended for a unique day trip. The people who live here are very friendly, and the scenery is truly enchanting.

Hace un par de semanas, mi familia y yo decidimos emprender una nueva aventura, esta vez las aguas cristalinas de la playa Tocuchare fueron elegidas para realizar la visita, así que entre arena, olas y brisa marina pasamos momentos inolvidables. Para mí esto representa una desconexión necesaria de la cotidianidad y el bullicio citadino que aturde con los distintos problemas que se deben enfrentar. La naturaleza tiene ese poder de devolvernos a lo esencial de la vida y, por lo tanto, agradecer por cada día que estamos aquí.
Mi papá y Alma aprovecharon la ocasión para divertirse con un bote que estaba cerca de la orilla, el cual pertenecía a unos pescadores de la comunidad que estaban al lado realizando unas reparaciones en otro bote. Desde la choza podía escuchar la risa de la niña y su particular pose de "Paz y amor" para que le tomara una foto. Definitivamente, ella con su inocencia alegra los corazones de toda la familia y hace que las preocupaciones se alejen un rato.
Tocuchare está relativamente cerca de Cumaná, así que es muy recomendable para pasar un día diferente. Las personas que viven acá son muy amigables y el paisaje es realmente encantador.
