I've heard about family empowerment. As we all know, family is a beautiful thing. Having a family that shares the same vision as you is a blessing. A family that understands your drive for success and supports you all the way.

It's the right thing for a family to empower its members because success for one is success for all, that is, for a family that loves one another. A family where peace, tolerance, love, and understanding reign.

Some families don't see each other, while others lack love, which makes them stay apart and, therefore, have no impact on one another's lives. In cases like this, they are after ruining one another's success at all costs, with no form of cooperation whatsoever.

Different families have what they do to earn a living, that is, a business passed down from generation to generation that the present ones would love to pass on to future generations too. That is the family business. Different families have different businesses that serve as a source of income for them, and this helps bring the family together.

Looking at my family, the only business I knew about was networking. I grew up knowing my parents were programmers and forex traders. My dad is a Web3 networker, and since childhood, I've watched him do that all his life.

This is what I knew my parents would do, andthis is what I can call my family business. When I came of age, my father wanted me to learn about what he did for a living, but I showed no interest because I believed it was a man's job.

It got to a point when I started picking up an interest in online businesses and learning about Web2, Web3, and other programming or networking-related stuff, and I can say it is interesting and worth the time. I would love to give my children such a foundation.

That brings me to a family friend whose family is in the cassava business. This is the business they have been doing for years. Their great-grandmother was the pioneer of the business before she died. After her death, her grandmother took over, and the business was doing well.

After her grandmother grew to an age where she couldn't go through such stress again, her mother took over. She continued the family business, and they continued to grow. It was expected that my friend would continue the business by helping her mother and also adding some packages to the business because she is educated, but the reverse was the case.

My friend is not interested in the business because, to her, it seems too crude. She felt, since she was educated, she couldn't do such business. This became a thing of concern for her family, as her mother was unhappy about this decision of hers.

Her family doesn't want the business to go into extinction because they have built a strong customer base and are so good at it. Almost everyone knows the family in the cassava business, but still, my friend doesn't want to continue the family business. Now they are still having issues in their family, trying to figure out who would take on the business, as my friend is the eldest.

My friend said she saw the family business as a burden that would hold her back from achieving her dreams, which were different from what the family does for a living. Sometimes continuing on the path that older generations laid might be impossible and look like an obstacle, but what can I say? The legacy must continue.

It is a good thing and one of the best ways to make the family business known to the younger generations and preserve the family's legacy. But agreeing to such terms sometimes might be a tug of war because it might not be what one desires.
