People say that a family is bonded by blood. Being part of this bond comes with its pros and cons. I suppose there are not many cons for most people, but for some, they certainly exist.

People can develop certain tendencies through these bonds. We often see the blooms and the beautiful moments, but everything lies on a spectrum. There are people who would truly benefit from leaving unhealthy family environments rather than remaining part of those bonds.
Although things are not always perfect in our families, the positives usually outweigh the differences and disagreements.
We may get lost in the thought of what our parents should do for us, and how our siblings should always be there for us. Being born comes with its own circumstances. Most likely, you are born into a religion or a family with values and pillars that have existed for generations. You are molded into a person who may very well contribute to progress. There are constraints and variations in a modern family, but I like to think of it this way: every person is a figure within a family.
It is not blood alone that makes a family, but the fact that these people, your siblings, your mother, and your father, are the ones with whom you spend your life. There are fights and differences, but what is life without them anyway?
Most of the time, I am envious of the things my siblings accomplish, and perhaps the same could be true for them. But the fact remains that when I am ill, or if something bad happens, they will surely be there.
As I would be for them.
So a modern family is not very different from those of older times, where everyone had a specific purpose: carrying logs, preparing food, or going out to hunt. Whatever they did, there was harmony.
Even though our lives are simpler now, and we make friends, work with colleagues, and eventually build lives with our partners, there is still a pull of family responsibility. When one person suffers, the others feel it too.
That, perhaps, is what family truly is. Although I may sometimes feel disdain toward the people I love the most, I cannot even think of losing them. Despite our differences and disagreements, they remain among the most important people in my life.
