Rebellion Design

According to Nate in the Town Hall on 21/11, the Rebellion collection is the most ambitious of all ever made, and the difference between them is huge, taking a lot of design and balancing work.

During the design of this new collection, some key points were followed: Player Control, Element Identity, Balancing, among others. Regarding player control, the creators intend to add more possibilities to make choices that impact the game, focusing more on the players. However, this extra decision time won't be long, because they want to keep Splinterlands as a quick game, with short matches.

In terms of balance, Callmetim left the Chaos Legion collection as the foundation of the current meta and will continue to guide the meta for now. This is great, because it gives value to the cards that players already use and doesn't suddenly change a scenario that everyone is already used to.

Still within this goal idea, it was commented on the identity of the elements, which many already know and which currently exists. Fire = Melee; Earth = Magic and so on. At this point there will not be any major changes, but the abilities, weaknesses and skills of each element will give a clear idea of which path each element will focus on and where the development team intends to follow. Now with multi-element summoners, you can combine the advantages of each element or eliminate the weakness that an element may have. Ambush - Gobalano Soldier

Ambush is a completely new ability that surprised everyone who was following the Set Rebellion updates, because it was not previously announced. The reason is simple, it was to catch everyone off guard, as the name of the ability suggests "Ambush", in addition to marking the change in the Splinterlands team, which promised a lot and delivered little, now promising a lot and delivering much more.

This ability promises to bring a new mechanic to the game, never seen before. The idea behind this skill was to change the play order, but without using the speed status that monsters normally have. This ability gives cards a previous round, before Round 1, but remember that it is only for cards that have this ability. So before the initial round of the match, monsters with ambush will have priority in one of their rounds to do what their skills and mechanics allow, such as attacking or activating a bonus.

One of the cards released in Sneak Peak was Gobalano Soldier. This is a fire element card, with an extremely low mana cost of just 3. Furthermore, it has very good stats: 3 attack, 4 speed and 5 HP. His abilities are Ambush, Sneak Attack and Shatter.

Gobalano Soldier will fit perfectly into the fire deck that is focused on attacks on the opponent's backline, because in round 0 it will attack the last enemy monster and its Shatter ability. b> will break any shield she has. So, in Round 1, the various fire monsters that have Sneak Attack will be able to attack without worrying about their attack being canceled due to the Shield, because Gobalando Soldier has already taken care of that, and if the opposing monster doesn't have a shield it will be even worse, because it will take 3 damage.

This confirms what was said in the Town Hall about how each element will focus on a specific point. In the case of the Fire element, it was very clear that the objective is to have cards focused on Attack, without much defense, with cards with Sneak or Opportunity.

Lookout

Lookout is a damage prevention skill. During "normal" rounds it guarantees a reduction of 1 in damage to adjacent units against monster attacks with sneak, snipe and opportunity. However, during "Ambush" rounds, the reduction will be greater.

This appears as a counterpoint to the "buff" that was given to cards that use Ambush and have these abilities, causing them to gain their round bonus, but then have their damage reduced, reaching a balance in the meta .

This approach shows us that the team intends to continue on the path of launching something new, launching a way to counter it, making people start taking this into consideration during matches.

One of the cards that will have this LOOKOUT ability will be Anasth Soothsayer, a water element card costing 6. In the stats, it caught my attention that she is a mage with very high HP, considerable speed and also with Dodge, greatly increasing her ability to dodge attacks. This Speed+Dodge combo together with Lookout tells me that this card will be used in the backline to protect allies against possible sneaks.

In addition to protecting the backline, it also helps the frontline, removing debuffs on the tank with Cleanse. Furthermore, Anasth Soothsayer removes the opponent's positive statuses with the Dispel Skill. Therefore, this will be a great support card for the water element, due to its versatility in battle.

Just like the fire element, which became clear as an attacking element, water is becoming more defensive, which shows that this could be the tendency to be followed by the element. After all, there is the phrase "mind like water", which means be like water and respond to your opponent's attacks. Which represents the element well in splinterlands, being reactive to attacks.

Number of Players

Did the arrival of the new Rebellions collection somehow impact the number of active users? In the DappRadar activity analysis graph, we have the white line marking the UAW, unique wallets, i.e. active accounts. This line shows us an average of 50k active users with a peak in users, transactions and volume occurring on November 16th, mid-month. The same was observed at the end of another, which could represent the beginning of the season, when players renew their decks.

The same number of accounts is observed on the Peakmonster Dashboard, a range of 50k active players every day, having the same peak between the 15th and 16th of November, but which soon returned to the average. Rebellion Design

De acordo com Nate no Town Hall de 21/11, a coleção do Rebellion é a mais ambiciosa de todas já feitas, e a diferença entre elas é gigante, tendo um grande trabalho de design e de balanceamento.

Durante o Design dessa nova coleção, alguns pontos chaves forma seguidos: Controle dos Jogadores, Identidade dos Elementos, Balanceamento, entre outros. Sobre o controle dos jogadores, os criadores pretendem adicionar mais possibilidades de fazer escolhas que impactem no jogo, dando um foco mais nos players. Entretanto, esse tempo a mais de decisão não será longo, porque querem manter o Splinterlands como um jogo rápido, de partidas curtas.

No balanceamento, o Callmetim deixou a coleção Chaos Legion é a fundação do meta atual e que continuará guiando o meta por enquanto. Isso é ótimo, porque dá valor às cartas que os jogadores já usam e não altera de forma brusca um cenário que todos já estão acostumados.

Ainda nessa ideia de meta, foi comentado sobre a identidade dos elementos, que muitos já conhecem e que já existe atualmente. Fogo = Melee; Terra = Magia e assim por diante. Nesse ponto não haverá grande mudança, mas as habilidades, fraquesas e skills de cada elementos vão dar uma ideia clara de qual caminho cada um elementos terá como foco e por onde o time de desenvolvimento pretende seguir. Agora com os summoners de multi elementos, você poderá juntar vantagens de cada elemento ou eliminar a fraqueza que um elemento possa ter. Por exemplo: Fogo tem muito ataque melee, sneak, mas não tem uma boa defesa, então você poderia juntar com outro elemento como Light e ter Shield, por exemplo.

Uma curiosidade é que as cartas da Rebellion tem uma história por trás, ela representam uma rebelião que está acontecendo no império. Assim, quando você lutam, tem uma coisa engraçada que é uma briga de facções na partida: Invaders X Empire X Rebellion.

Ambush - Gobalano Soldier

Ambush é uma habilidade completamente nova e que surpreendeu a todos que estavam acompanhando as atualizações do Set Rebellion, porque ela não foi divulgada anteriormente. O motivo é simples foi para pegar todos desprevinidos assim como o nome da habilidade sugere "Ambush", além de marcar a mudança do time do Splinterlands, que prometia muito e entregava pouco, agora prometendo muito e entregando muito mais.

Essa habilidade promete trazer uma nova mecância para o jogo, nunca vista antes. A ideia por trás dessa skill foi mexer com a ordem da jogada, mas sem usar o status de velocidade que os monstros normalmente tem. Essa habilidade dá as cartas um round prévio, antes do Round 1, mas lembrando que é só para as cartas que tem essa habilidade. Então antes do round inicial da partida, os monstros com ambush vão ter prioridade em um round deles para fazer o que suas habilidades e mecânicas permitem, como atacar ou ativar uma bonus.

Uma das cartas divulgadas nos Sneak Peak foi o Gobalano Soldier. Essa é uma carta do elemento fogo, com um custo de mana extremamente baixo de apenas 3. Além disso, possui status muito bons: 3 de ataque, 4 de speed e 5 de HP. Suas habilidades são Ambush, Sneak Attack e Shatter.

O Gobalano Soldier vai encaixar perfeitamente no deck de fogo que é focado em ataques na backline do oponente, porque no round 0 ele vai atacar o último monstro inimigo e sua habilidade Shatter vai quebrar qualquer escudo que ela tenha. Assim, no Round 1 os diversos monstros de fogo que possuem Sneak Attack vão poder atacar sem se preocupar do ataque deles ser cancelado por conta do Shield, porque o Gobalando Soldier já cuidou disso, e se o monstro oponente não tiver shield será pior ainda, porque vai ter levar 3 de dano.

Isso confirma o que foi dito no Town Hall sobre como cada elemento vai focar em um ponto específico. No caso do elemento Fogo ficou bem claro que o objetivo é ter cartas focadas no Ataque, sem muita defesa, com cartas com Sneak ou Opportunity.

Lookout

Lookout é uma habilidade de prevenção de dano. Durante rounds "normais" garante uma redução de 1 no dano à unidades adjancente contra ataques de monstros com sneak, snipe e opportunity. Entretanto, durante os rounds de "Ambush", a redução será maior.

Isso surge como um contraponto ao "buff" que foi dado às cartas que usam Ambush e possui essas habilidades, fazendo com que elas ganhem o round bonus deles, mas que depois tenham o seu dano reduzido, chegando em um equilíbrio no meta.

Essa abordagem nos mostra que o time pretende continuar no caminho de ao lançarem algo novo, lançar junto uma maneira de counterá-lo, fazendo com que as pessoas comecem a levar isso em consideração durantes as partidas.

Uma das cartas que terá essa habilidade LOOKOUT será a Anasth Soothsayer, uma carta do elemento água de custo 6. Nos status me chamou atenção que é uma maga com um HP bem alto, velocidade considerável e ainda com Dodge, aumentando muito sua capacidade de desviar de ataques. Esse combo de Speed+Dodge junto com o Lookout me diz que essa carta será usada na backline para proteger os aliados contra possíveis sneaks.

Além de proteger a backline, ela ainda ajuda a frontline, removendo os debuffs no tank com Cleanse . Ainda, a Anasth Soothsayer remove os status positivos do oponente com a Skill Dispel. Assim, essa será uma ótima carta de suporte para o elemento água, pela sua versatilidade em batalha.

Assim como o no elemento fogo que ficou claro ser um elemento de ataque, água está ficando mais defensivo, o que mostra que essa pode ser a tendência a ser seguida pelo elemento. Afinal, existe a frase "mente como a água", que significa seja como a água e responda aos ataques do oponente. O que representa bem o elemento no splinterlands, sendo reativos aos ataques.

Número de Jogadores

Será que com a chegada da nova coleção Rebellions impactou de alguma forma a quantidade de usuários ativos? No gráfico de análise de atividade do DappRadar, temos a linha branca marcando o UAW, carteiras únicas, ou seja, contas ativas. Essa linha nos mostra uma média de 50k usuários ativos com um pico de usuários, transação e volume tendo ocorrido no dia 16 de novembro, metade do mês. O mesmo se observou no final de outro, o que pode representar o início da season, momento em que os jogadores renovam seus decks.

A mesma quantidade de contas é observada pelo Dashboard do Peakmonster, uma faixa de 50k de jogadores ativos todos os dias, tendo o mesmo pico entre os dias 15 e 16 de novembro, mas que logo voltou a média. Assim, podemos concluir que Rebellion NÃO atraiu mais jogadores ativos, entretanto é verdade que os jogadores atuais estão bem empolgados.
