The Bitcoin Halving happened recently and this, as always, generated great expectations in everyone in the crypto market, but nothing absurd happened, after all we had already come from a bullrun where BTC went from $20k to its ATH of $70k, if that wasn't good enough, I don't know what would be lol.

However, there were projects that did not follow this increase and that during the halving period had their assets falling by half... I'm talking about Splinterlnads. The game is unfortunately in the ATL of card collection and the SPS has halved in value.

Let's talk a little about the situation of the game, expectations for the future and what has been happening with the assets.

Throughout the post we will comment on the halvings in Splinterlands assets, but first let's talk about what the team needs to do to reverse this scenario.

There is also a solution for the game, which is to attract new players, something that is the team's goal for 2024. To achieve this, they have reformulated the Ranked Rankings, improved the game's UI/UX and are about to create a new experience for players in general and when it's ready, they will call a marketing pro to take the game to the public.

The point here is that one of the opportunities for this to happen has already passed, which was the pre-halving, now when the next one will come, no one is sure. And for things to improve, all future plans need to work out.

At the top of players' expectations with the news in ranked we saw the Chaos Legion collection reach close to 2,000 dollars, however after the halving it is in the range of 1000 dollars, in other words, literally a halving in asset prices. The Rift Watchers Collection did not have a big increase like Chaos since the cards in general are much more expensive, but it managed to maintain its value in the 2.5k range, which had been falling until then. But soon after, it started following the trend again and is now below 2k dollars.

The situation of the collections is not good at all and it is worth remembering that we have not yet reached the same moment that makes the Untamed collection lose its value massively that was the departure of Modern. This should happen from the beginning until the end of next year, now if the collection lost half its value now I don't want to imagine what could happen when it rotates.

The great euphoria that led to the high value was the great expectation that the changes in Ranked would have a great impact on the game, but it was observed that the situation became even more difficult because the players all had very strong cards. This makes the situation of collections even more risky, because if it takes too long and arrives in rotation without a use for the large quantity of cards, prices are likely to plummet.

Following the BTC Halving, another of Splinterlands' assets, the SPS governance token, also had its price halved. At the peak it was 0.03 and now it is 0.015. One of the reasons is that the SPS burn FlyWheel in DEC stopped as soon as tons of Gladius cards were burned by DEC, causing the token to lose its $1 parity, falling for a while in the $0.8 range. The token issuance rate has been reduced, which is good, as it reduces inflation in the SPS, but it is worth remembering that we still have half of the SPS to be minted and that after it ends it is unknown what will be used to reward the players since the decision is up to the DAO, which may simply not reach a consensus.

The more time passes and the more tokens are issued, the lower the maximum SPS price is when we analyze the MarketCap issue. We currently have "breath" to reach 3 cents in the best of situations, which was the halving, along with a major update to the game. And these 3 cents already almost beat the SPS Marketcap in the 2021 bull.

O Halving do Bitcoin aconteceu à pouco tempo e isso, como sempre, gerou uma grande expectativa em todos do mercado crypto, mas não aconteceu nada absurdo, afinal já vinhamos de uma bullrun onde o BTC saiu de $20k até sua ATH de $70k, se isso já não foi bom, eu não sei o que seria rs.

Entretanto, houveram projetos que não acompanharam essa subia e que durante o período de halving tiveram seus assets caindo pela metade... É estou falando do Splinterlnads. O jogo infelizmente está no ATL da coleção de cartas e o SPS caiu pela metade em valor.

Vamos falar um pouco sobre a situação do jogo, as expectativas para o futuro e o que tem acontecido com os assets.

Expectativas para o Futuro do Jogo

No decorrer do post vamos comentar sobre os halvings nos assets do Splinterlands, mas antes vamos falar sobre o que o time precisa fazer para reverter esse cenário.

Existe ainda uma solução para o jogo que é atrair novos jogadores, algo que é a meta do time para 2024. Para isso eles tem reformulado as Rankeds, melhorado o UI/UX do jogo e estão prestes a fazer uma nova experiencia para os jogodores no geral e quando estiver pronto, vão chamar um pro de marketing para levar o jogo para o público.

O ponto aqui é que uma das oportunidades para isso acontecer já passou que foi o pré-halving, agora quando virá a próxima ninguém tem certeza. E para as coisas melhorarem todos os planos futuros precisam dar certo.

No topo das expectativas do jogadores com as novidades na ranked vimos a coleção do Chaos Legion bater próximo de 2.000 dólares, entretanto após o halving ela se encontra na faixa dos 1000 dólares, ou seja, literalmente um halving no preços dos ativos. Já a Coleção do Rift Watchers não teve uma grande subida como a Chaos já que as cartas no geral são aé mais caras, mas conseguiu manter seu valor na faixa dos 2.5k, que havia caindo até então. Só que logo depois voltou a seguir a tendência e agora está abaixo dos 2k dólares.

A situação das coleções não está nada boa e vale lembrar que não chegamos ainda no mesmo momento que faz a coleção Untamed perder o seu valor massivamente que foi a saída do Modern. Isso deve acontecer no início até o final do ano que vem, agora se a coleção perdeu metade do valor agora não quero imaginar o que pode acontecer quando rotacionar.

A grande euforia que fiz bater o alto valor foi a grande expectativa de que as mudanças na Ranked fossem trazer um grande impacto ao jogo, mas foi observado que a situação ficou ainda mais difícil porque os jogadores estavam todos com cartas muito fortes. Ainda, ficou evidente que a quantidade de jogadores não era tão grande quanto parecida nas estatísticas. O jogo tem na verdade 1000 jogadores investidos realmente, e os outros 29k são bots que na maioria são tem cartas bronze level e claro algumas contas que deixam no bot em wild.

Algo que poderia trazer o valor para as cartas seria a Land. Como apenas 20% está sendo utilizado, os outros 80% seriam preenchidos com as cartas chaos, reduzindo a oferta no mercado. Entretanto, o time resolveu mudar o foco para o NPE para o ano de 2024 em vez de focar em Lands. Isso deixa a situação das coleções ainda mais arriscadas, porque se demorar muito e chegar na rotação sem uma utilizadade para a grande quantidade de cartas, os preços devem despencar.

Acompanhando o Halving do BTC mais um dos ativos do Splinterlands, o token de governancia SPS, também teve seu preço reduzidos pela metade. Na alta ele cehgou em 0,03 e agora está em 0,015. Um dos motivos é que o FlyWheel de burn de SPS em DEC parou assim que toneladas de cartas Gladius foram queimadas por DEC, fazendo com que o token perdesse a paridade de $1, caindo por um tempo já na faixa dos $0,8. A taxa de emissão de token tem sido reduzida o que é bom, já que reduz a inflação no SPS, mas vale lembrar que ainda temos metade de SPS para ser mintado e que depois dele terminar é uma incognita o que vai ser usado para recompensar os jogadores já que a decisão fica a cargo da DAO, que pode simplesmente não chegar à um concenso.

Quanto mais tempo passa e mais tokens são emitos menor é o preço máximo do SPS de formos analisar a questão do MarketCap. Atualmente temos "folego" para chegar nos 3 centavos na melhor das situações que foi o halving, junto de uma grande atualização no jogo. E esses 3 cents já bate quase o Marketcap do SPS no bull de 2021.
