Battle Ruleset

  • Rise of the Commons: Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles.

  • Melee Mayhem: Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.

  • Briar Patch: All Monsters have the Thorns ability.

MY STRATEGY

Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the last 5 battles of the opposing player, I saw that the opposing player had much more powerful cards than my deck, and I knew that I would be fighting against a level 6 Summoner in this battle.

Frankly, I knew that this battle would be very difficult for me, so I needed a much better strategy to win this battle, especially I had to find a different strategy that the opponent player could not predict.

First of all, I believe that the Corsair Bosun with the Reflection Shield Ability will help me greatly in winning this battle, so I will base my strategy on it. Additionally, according to the rulesets of the battle, all monsters in this battle would have Thorns Ability.

I would like to point out that I have determined a very different strategy in this battle, I think it would be very difficult to predict such a strategy in such a battle. I will put monsters with no or low attack power on the front lines, my purpose in this was to stall the enemy monsters. I will also add 2 Monsters with the Magic Reflect Ability to the team, which I think is very effective against magic attackers. It would also be great to use the Amplify Ability to increase back damage, but I decided to do it with the summoner. That's why I chose Grandmaster Rathe as my summoner. Thanks to Grandmaster Rathe, all monsters in my team would have Void Armor Ability, Amplify Ability, and +1 armor.

I wanted to keep the Corsair Bosun away from enemy attacks because I needed his powerful attacks until the end of the battle. And if the Corsair Bosun was destroyed my hope of winning this battle would be destroyed so I put it in the fifth position. And I put Scavo Hireling with the Repair Ability in the last position. I also needed the Repair Ability until the end of the battle, so I put Scavo Hireling in the last position. Frankly, I didn't think there would be Opportunity and Sneak Monsters in the opposing team, but if they were, only they could upset my strategy.

LINE UP

Summoner : GRANDMASTER RATHE

Grandmaster Rathe is a Life Summoner who gives +1 Armor, Void Armor Ability, and Amplify Ability to all friendly monsters.

  • Void Armor Ability : Magic attacks hit this Unit's armor before its Health.

  • Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy units by 1.

Position 1: GARGOYA SCRAPPER

Gargoya Scrapper is a Life Monster that can attack the target with a Melee Attack and has Void Ability from level 3. Since Gargoya Scrapper only costs 1 mana, I added it to the team, and since it has the Void Ability, I put it in the first position. Honestly, I knew Gargoya Scrappe would be destroyed in the first round because all monsters had Thorns Ability.

  • Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks by 50%.

Position 2: BLINDING REFLECTOR

Blinding Reflector is a Life Monster that can attack the target with a Melee Attack and has Magic Reflect Ability at level 5. And I put Blinding Reflector in the second position.

  • Magic Reflect Ability : When hit with Magic damage, does half the Magic damage (rounded up) back to the attacker.

Image from thread

Position 3: PELACOR CONJURER

Pelacor Conjurer is a Life Monster that has no attack power and has Flying Ability and Magic Reflect Ability from level 4. And I put Pelacor Conjurer in the third position.

  • Flying Ability : Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the Flying ability.

  • Magic Reflect Ability : When hit with Magic damage, does half the Magic damage (rounded up) back to the attacker.

Position 4: CHAOS AGENT

Chaos Agent is a Neutral Monster that has no attack power and has Dodge Ability from level 1. And I put Chaos Agent in the fourth position.

  • Dodge Ability : Has a 25% higher chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks.

Image from thread

Position 5: CORSAIR BOSUN

Corsair Bosun is a Life Monster that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has Reach Ability and Reflection Shield Ability from level 1. And I put Corsair Bosun in the fifth position.

  • Reach Ability : Melee attack Units with the Reach ability may attack from the second position on the team.

  • Reflection Shield Ability : This Unit doesn't take damage from Blast, Magic Reflect, Thorns, or Return Fire.

Position 6: SCAVO HIRELING

Scavo Hireling is a Neutral Monster that has no attack power and has the Repair Ability. And I put it in the last position.

  • Repair Ability : Restores a third of max armor to the friendly Unit whose armor has taken the most damage.

Frankly, for my strategy to work well in this battle, Corsair Bosun and Scavo Hireling had to survive until the end of the battle, otherwise my strategy would be useless, so I put them in the last positions.

BATTLE COMMENTS

You can watch the entire battle from the video or from the Battle Link

Round 1

Frankly, the opponent player's strategy was also very interesting. To be honest, I did not expect the opponent team to have 3 melee monsters, I expected there to be more magic attack monsters.

In the first round, the enemy monsters' attacks were more effective, but the back damage they took caused serious damage to their armor. While one monster from my team was destroyed in the first round, no monster from the opposing team could be destroyed. But in the next rounds, things were very difficult for the enemy magic attack monsters, because their Magic Reflect Ability and Amplify Ability would cause them to suffer.

Round 2

At the beginning of the second round, Blinding Reflector was destroyed, which was earlier than I expected, but it was okay, as all monsters on the opposing team were taking serious back damage. Also, the powerful attacks of the Corsair Bosun and the fact that the Pelacor Conjurer evaded two attacks were admirable. Additionally, Pelacor Conjurer destroyed Ice Pixie with back damage.

Round 3

At the beginning of the third round, Venari Wavesmith was destroyed by back damage. The combination of Magic Reflect Ability and Amplify Ability made it very easy to destroy the 2 magic attack monsters on the opposing team, so I like to use this combo against them. Both the opposing team and my team had 3 monsters left, but the opposing team's job was harder because the monsters on the opposing team had no armor, and the Corsair Bosun was not taking back damage from Thorns.

Round 4

In the fourth round, while 2 more monsters from the opposing team were destroyed, no monsters from my team could be destroyed. Spineback Turtle could not take any damage back because it missed, but it was the only one left on the opposing team, missing only extended its life, otherwise it had no chance of winning this battle alone.

Round 5

In the fifth round, Spineback Turtle missed again, but was unable to evade the Corsair Bosun's attack, so its health dropped to 2.

Round 6

At the beginning of the sixth round, the Corsair Bosun destroyed the Spineback Turtle and my team was able to win this very tough battle.

The battle lasted six rounds. At the end of the battle, while all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, 3 monsters on my team were still alive. My strategy worked quite well in this battle and my team managed to win this battle even though the opposing team was quite powerful. Frankly, in this battle, the Corsair Bosun's powerful attacks and the fact that it did not take back damage from Thorns were admirable, so I add the Corsair Bosun to my team without hesitation in such battles. Additionally, the Repair Ability helped my team a lot in this battle. The Magic Reflect Ability and Amplify Ability made it easier to destroy enemy magic attack monsters, while the Thorns Ability and Amplify Ability made it easier to destroy enemy melee monsters. That's why I like to include these types of combinations in my strategy. I recommend you to watch this interesting and quite challenging battle from the Battle Link. I hope you will like it.
