Hybrid Theory is the debut studio album by American rock band Linkin Park. The album was released on October 24, 2000 by Warner Bros. Records. It was recorded at NRG Recordings in North Hollywood, California and produced by Don Gilmore. The album Hybrid Theory's lyrical themes deal with issues that lead vocalist Chester Bennington experienced during his adolescence, including drug use and his parents' constant fighting and divorce. Additionally, Hybrid Theory takes its title from the band's previous name as well as the concept of music theory and combining different styles.
Four singles were released from Hybrid Theory, including "One Step Closer", "In the End", "Papercut" and "Crawling, all of which were also responsible for Linkin Park's launch into mainstream popularity. All the singles from the album remain some of the band's most successful songs to date. Additionally, although "Runaway", "My December" and "Points of Authority" from the special edition bonus disc album were not released as singles, they became hits on alternative rock radio stations, thanks to the success of all of the band's singles and the album.
The Hybrid Theory album received generally positive reviews from critics and was a major commercial success. It peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200, and was certified 12x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It also reached the top 10 in at least 15 countries and sold 32 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling debut album since Guns N' Roses's Appetite for Destruction (1987) and the best-selling rock album of the 21st century. Additionally, it won the Best Hard Rock Performance award for the song "Crawling" at the 44th Grammy Awards. Warner Bros. Records re-released Hybrid Theory for its 20th anniversary on October 9, 2020, also released a previously unreleased demo song, "She Couldn't".

There are great songs on the Hybrid Theory album, the songs I listen to the most on this album are "In the End" and "Papercut".
Linkin Park - In the End
"In the End" is arguably Linkin Park's most successful and well-recognized song. Energized by the classic Mike Shinoda vocal firestorm and Chester Bennington's howl-to-the-heavens yelp, this song catapulted Linkin Park to superstardom. Additionally, opening with tinkling piano keys, Mike Shinoda's signature verses are peppered with Chester Bennington's ethereal, floating vocals, holding the notes with pristine accuracy and length. It's a truly amazing work, it's hard to believe Mike Shinoda wrote it in their rehearsal space overnight.
Linkin Park - Papercut
I think Papercut is the song that best representation Linkin Park's style. In this song, Mike Shinoda rapping, Chester Bennington pours his heart into the vocals, thought-provoking and relatable lyrics, great guitar riffsk and great electronic work, this song has it all, it is truly an amazing work.
