Nevermind is the second studio album by American rock band Nirvana. The album was released on September 24, 1991 by DGC Records and was produced by Butch Vig. It was recorded in May and June 1991 at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, California, and Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin, and mastered that August at the Mastering Lab in Hollywood, California. Nevermind features a more polished, radio-friendly sound than Nirvana's prior work. Nevermind, written primarily by frontman Kurt Cobain, is notable for channeling a range of emotions, being dark, humorous and disturbing. It includes anti-establishment views, anti-sexism, frustration, alienation, and troubled love.
Nevermind was a huge commercial success, reaching the top 10 on charts worldwide. It reached number one on the US Billboard 200 in January 1992, and the album was gaining attention, selling approximately 300,000 copies a week. Lead single "Smells Like Teen Spirit" reached the top 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Additionally, its music video was also heavily rotated on MTV. The album was voted as the best album of the year in the Pazz & Jop critics' poll, while "Smells Like Teen Spirit" also topped the single of the year and video of the year polls. Nevermind also garnered the band a total of three Grammy Award nominations, including Best Alternative Music Album at the 34th and 35th Grammy Awards.
The success of Nevermind and its singles propelled Nirvana being considered the biggest band of the 1990s, and Kurt Cobain was dubbed "the voice of his generation" by critics. The Album is also often credited with kick-starting a revival of interest in punk culture among teenagers and young adults of Generation X and being seminal to the decade's counterculture. The album sold more than 26 million copies worldwide, becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time. It is currently considered the 37th best-selling album. It was also certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in March 1999. Nevermind, one of the most acclaimed and influential albums in music history, was added by the Library of Congress to the National Recording Registry in 2004 for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". It also frequently ranks high on lists of the greatest albums of all time. The album has since been reissued with alternative takes and live performances.

Nirvana is a dynamic mix of sizzling power chords, manic energy and sonic restraint. While it erects sturdy melodic structures that sing-along hard rock, but then attacks them with frenzied screaming and guitar havoc. In the songs, it's impressive how Cobain revs into high punk gear, shifting his versatile voice from quiet caress to raw-throated fury. And the decisive control of bassist Chris Novoselic and drummer Dave Grohl makes the songs sound cool. I can say that Nirvana's 'Nevermind' changed music and pop culture forever. In fact, this album was a musical about-face.
There are great songs on the album that can be everyone's favorite, I can say that "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Come As You Are" are the songs I listen to the most.

The guitar sounds in the song "Come As You Are" are fascinating, this song makes me want to learn to play the guitar. Also, the song gives good messages. Be who you are and join the party just as you feel comfortabl, come as you are.. Don’t put on airs, don’t be a poser. This song has an indescribable vibe.
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" is one of the most stunning, moving and haunting Nirvana songs of all time. Even after 30 years, this song still smells of teen spirit. Great works truly never get old.
Frankly, regardless of the language and genre of the song, the important thing for me is that it sounds good. I think the music on the Nevermind album is fascinating.
