Hi guys,
Welcome to another entry into the splinterlands social media challenge. As you know this type of challenge is up every week so anyone interested in making an entry can go through the rules and also do the needful. This week, my social media challenge will take a different approach. This week I’ll be writing an interesting battle. One thing you should know by now is that whenever I say a battle is interesting;
The first thing is that I won and the next reason for excitement is that I was able to use my high-mannered cards. So yeah, these are some of the reasons why I choose to call a game interesting.
So let’s get into it.
For this battle, I had 3 rulesets as usual. This is because I am in the gold league and with the gold league you don’t use 1 Ruleset like we do in the bronze and at times silver league as well.
So the Ruleset for this battle was
Are you not entertained -One additional gladiator card may be used in battles.
What doesn’t kill you- All monsters have the enrage ability
Holy protection- All monsters have the divine shield ability.
With these three Rulesets, you need to select your team making sure that you choose the best cards to suit all three rulesets. So I remembered I had pretty good cards in the fireside of the cards. For me, the addition of gladiator cards to the Ruleset options was not good cause I wasn’t prepared to use any gladiator cards.
I think the first significant difference for me was the addition of the rage Ruleset. I knew having a strong melee card upfront would give me an edge when that Ruleset came into play.
Holy protection was a good plus for me. I say was a good plus cause I knew it would help me massively.
Let’s get started.

My summoner of choice for this game was Yodin Zaku. With Yodin Zaku’s features, I was sure it was going to be a plus. Yodin Zaku gives each of your cards a plus 1 health, blast ability and a plus 1 range for all your range cards.
Going with this my first card was grum flameblade. A card which I love so much but its only downfall is the speed of 1. With massive health and void magic ability it’s a good fit for any battle.
The next card was a molten ash golem. A range card which has the close range ability so is suitable for any position at all. It also has massive health and well those are its good features. its speed and range attack are nothing to write home about for me.
Next in line was Lava Launcher, a range card with massive mana but you won’t be making a mistake if you still go in for this card. Why? Because with a mana of 9, you get a range card with 3 speed, 3 range attacks,6 shields and also some good health.
Next was Scorch Fiend, a card I chose because I still had some mana left.
Next was Dalthin Ironhood. A range card which has 3 speeds, 2 range attacks, 5 health and 4 shields.
The last card was a last card which has the last stand abilities. I didn’t choose it as my last card because of its last-stand abilities but simply cause it’s a magic card with good health.
The start of the battle was a pretty boring one as you’d predict. The divine shield ability made every attack in the first round useless; well not useless as my opponent's first card made an impact on grums shield by shattering it. Round one was good to me cause I was able to kill my opponent's first card which was his Drybone barbarian. I think due to the divine shield his Drybone was able to hold on for a long while.

It didn’t take long for my grum to die in round two since it was already bleeding from all the hits it took in the first round. When it was killed my molten ash golem took over. With this one, I was kind of not too pleased but at least I was happy it had good health.

It didn’t take long for me to finish off a second monster of my opponent for his imperial knight to take over the first position. With a few hits, I was able to use my blast ability to finish off his Gibson bomber in round 3 even before his first position card; well that didn’t long either.

His venari took over the first position leaving his war Pegasus in the second position and the lonely card at the back. Since it didn’t have the close-range ability it was useless in first position just taking hit after hit. It was able to dodge a few of my attacks though.

But their attacks my dolphin ironhood wasn’t having it as he killed him off.
This was six rounds of great enjoyment in my opinion. Yes, one of my cards was killed but boy I liked how the game went.
