It has been a long time since I saw a worthwhile post about Hive on a Web2 platform. @crimsonclad shared on Reddit an AMA announcement aiming to introduce Redditors to Hive. As I checked the replies on her post, I observed both old and new names. I saw acidyo, michupa, atma.love, and other long-time users of Hive. Reading the responses to inquiries, I find acidyo and crimsonclad's very informative; you can learn a lot about Hive by reading the exchanges. You will see what's in people's minds in real-time.
Some of the questions raised are related to gamefi and the increase in the number of players, onboarding, Hive's uniqueness, Hive's future, the question of trust and fear of rug pull, accessibility of HIVE in crypto exchanges in the US, integration into legacy sites, and the use of AI. By browsing the replies, especially from crimsonclad, one can come up with materials for a webinar or a module to introduce Web2 users to Hive. That's part of my plan. It is rare to find such a wealth of information in just one Reddit post.
Anyhow, the reason why I write this article is that it is my way to welcome new Hivians who just signed up for the last two days through that Reddit post. So far, I have found six new names: @kirkawesome, @mbdtf95, @gullveig, @hiorea, @freestylesquid, and @antidarkmatter. Welcome to Hive! 😂😄
In my case, I never had such a privilege when I joined Hive in August 2021. It took me 8 months to wander here and there figuring out what it is that I am witnessing here on Hive. Though I heard about the idea of "decentralization" as a political construct in the academic community, witnessing it firsthand, I find it surprising. Imagine publishing one article, and you can see it on all layer 2 platforms built on Hive. Platforms like PeakD, Ecency, Hive Blog, InLeo, Cent Blog, DBuzz, and more. And not only that, but that one post can earn multiple tokens, provided that you are utilizing the appropriate tags for your content.
How I wish the above overview would shorten the learning curve of the newcomers on Hive. How I wish that you wouldn't repeat the mistakes I made.
Moreover, what I mentioned here is just the "tip" of the iceberg. Know that there are more than 100 DApps built on Hive, and there are also many tribes on the chain built on diverse shared interests, from gaming to precious metals, music, arts, etc. You can also check the depository of useful posts for those who want to systematically know how Hive works.
