Theme-:"If You Could Meet Your Younger Self, What Would You Say?"Imagine meeting your younger self. Would you give advice, warn yourself about past mistakes, encourage your dreams, or simply have a conversation?

I would really be delighted if I were given the opportunity to meet my younger self. It would be once in a lifetime opportunity to get to fix some things right. I know some people have already told him one or two things that would help him in life but I believe what I have to give would be much more valuable because it’s coming from someone who has lived both his past, present and future.

The first thing I’ll let him know is that time is not on his side. He has to be intentional about every single minute that he has on his hands. I’ll try to knock off that sense of ease that “you are still young” and “you should take life nice and easy.” From my experience, life is not actually easy. So going easy on it may not really get you anywhere.

Sure, you are allowed to take a break every now and then. But that doesn’t mean you should go on and sleep your entire life away.

I’ll let him know that he only gets what he works for, and not what he merely wishes for or desires. I’ll share with him some of my victory experiences and let him know they didn’t happen by accident, but came to be because I worked hard for them.

My primary aim would be to let him know that is not a playground or a bed of roses. He’s probably going to be overwhelmed by these things I would say to him if he should absorb them later in the future he would be very grateful to me.

Another advice I would give him is to cultivate the habit of saving.

I know he probably thinks that one has to be earning a lot before being able to save, that’s what I thought also. So I’ll try to debunk that mindset from him. I’ll let him know that saving doesn’t necessarily have to require much from him, all it requires is just consistency no matter how small he puts aside. I’ll let him know that If I had practiced that culture of saving when I was his age I’d be a millionaire by now.

I’d also advise him to be more compliant and obedient especially to his mom, or our mom, technically. This is because when I was much younger I was stubborn and at the end of the day this didn’t do me any good. I’ll let him know how much our mom loves us because he’s probably thinking that she hates him due how she scolds, yells, and sometimes flogs him. I’ll let him know that it’s all out of love and her wanting the best for us. I’ll site some examples of some people he might know that are wayward and tell him that he’s likely to turn out be like them if our mom hadn’t taken those measures to curbing such reality from occurring.

To crown it all, I’ll let him know that nothing is too big or impossible for him to achieve. The earlier he knows this, the better for him. I’ll create this sense of urgency in him. The idea of starting now, and not tomorrow.
