This blog is a personal journal of all the movies, Tv-Shows, & Games I consume during a year which enhances my overall experience. Mickey 17 (7.6/10)

This movie is 2 hours and 20 minutes long and it never really bored me while it kept me entertained and interested for the entire runtime. There were some aspects that I really liked about it while other I liked less so say.

All-Explaining Movie Plot:

"Mickey 17, known as an "expendable," goes on a dangerous journey to colonize an ice planet."

Things I liked: Patterson put up an excellent performance in this movie and the main plotline of an expandable worker who gets in dangerous situations while he's printed over and over again while retaining most of his memories is just really interesting. Especially the first part of the movie with the 3rd person voice over while the idea is broken down while showing many of the previous deaths and situations was nice. The film was shot well and I generally enjoy sci-fi movies like this. The entire plot and story was quite ok while at the same time the 2nd part and the ending didn't really blow me away.

Things I didn't like: I like when movies kind of keep you guessing what direction they will go in while having many smaller or bigger twists. Mickey 17 didn't do this as I pretty much knew in advance most of what was about to come so there were little to no real surprises. The Marshall Character played by Mard Ruffalo had a very comedic and satiric vibe around him which I found a bit over the top at times and way too much an impersonation of Trump. Also the entire plotline with the animals I found to be less interesting than the first part of the movie and the CGI when they first came in the picture felt off even though I didn't really bother it near the end.

Conclusion
So despite seeing quite some flaws in this movie and think the main concept could have been used in a better day, I still highly enjoyed watching Mickey17 form start to finish and I'm glad that I watched it. It's a nice specatcle with a great premise and good acting while certainly not perfect. I'm glad to score it a solid 7.6/10 and I'm looking forward to watching some more Bong Joon Ho movies which I haven't watched yet like Memories of Murder & Mother.
