This blog is a personal journal of all the movies, Tv-Shows, & Games I consume during a year which enhances my overall experience. The ratings that I give are fully based on my personal preference and enjoyment at the time of watching and I'm writing spoiler-free reviews. Das Lehrerzimmer (7.4/10)

Depending on how you look at this one, you can either see it as a psychological Thriller or as a Satire where the school kind of represents the Society. Especially the ending scene indicates the Satire aspect of the movie which kind of caught me off guard.

The Story
In this movie which almost entirely takes place inside a school, we follow a teacher and it starts off with some kind of incident that happened with a couple studens and the questionable investigation of some teachers to find out what happened. I didn't fully knew where it was going until something relatively smalll happened in the teachers' lounge that involves the main character which quickly spirals out of control.Image from thread

It was a small but very interesting setup where you first get directed to to question 'who did it' which was followed by the question 'how much evidence is enough'. The movie just showcases classic human behavior that leads to the situation getting to an extreme while it very easily could have been avoided. I thought it was interesting and very much sympathized with the lead character in this journey she went on.

So my brain was teased in a pleasant way while watching this one and I mainly looked at it as a fairly realistic psychological thriller. I didn't really know where they would take it at the end and felt it could be a hit or a miss but I wouls say is was neither as it went in a direction I didn't really expect leaving me mainly with questions. I guess the answer that makes most sense on how to explain it is to see the movie as a satire which satisfied me enough but also didn't blow me away

So I enjoyed many things about this movie which had an interesting story that makes you think, great Directing, Casting and Acting while taking place in the location of a school. At the same time I also wasn't really blow away by it and I'm not sure that it will stick. If you enjoy Psychological Thrillers and want a shorter movie I certainly can recommend it. A good 7.4/10
