Today marks the fifteenth anniversary of bitcoin's emergence into the real world. 15 years ago, a person or group of people by the name of Satoshi Nakamoto launched the main bitcoin network, mined a genesis block with 50 BTC by including the headline of an article from the British publication The Times in the hash of the genesis block. The creation of bitcoin may have been linked to the 2007-2008 financial crisis.
Since that time, the world situation has remained unchanged in every aspect: the government has increasingly intervened in the economy, manufacturing is shrinking, unemployment is rising, and the global financial crisis continues to threaten a Great Depression or worse.
In the latest issue of The Times, published on January 3, 2009, the article is entitled "Israel prepares to send tanks and troops into Gaza," and after 15 years, the conflict in Gaza continues.
Today there was a major wave of liquidation of long Coinglass positions in the market. Positions of 175,000 traders totaling over $670 million were liquidated, with the majority of liquidations occurring on OKX, Binance and Huobi, both long and short positions.
This is a reminder that in the cryptocurrency market it doesn't matter which way the price goes - using leverage can lead to risks and loss of funds.
