Marvel pushed back Avengers: Doomsday to December 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars to December 2027 in its latest update.

I usually anticipate new Marvel releases eagerly, and some extra months will seem like a long break to me, but in a number of ways this break might prove beneficial.

When Disney revealed the change of Marvel's schedule, my initial thought was about the larger context. Cutting out a number of scheduled Marvel movies might mean perhaps Marvel is finally realizing they need to slow down and make fewer, more high-quality films. Marvel has been producing films continuously over the years, and to be honest, sometimes it felt too much. I just couldn't handle all the new characters and stories, and more times than I can count I felt the studio was rushing some movies for the sake of meeting deadlines.

Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, actually stated Marvel became unfocused from pumping out too many titles.

I absolutely agree with him on that. Too much content creates the situation where each film or show doesn't feel as special and as a fan, I find I get distanced from it. By slowing down and providing shows such as Avengers more time to properly build up both the hype and quality, Marvel can make more in-depth and meaningful films again which I believe would give, if not equal, more return on their investments. I would lean on more since it's beginning to look like GTA 6, haha.

People will always pay premium for quality.

I do miss the early Marvel movie era where every film felt thought out, packed with intention, and left a true impression upon the fans.

Anyways, the release of Avengers: Doomsday over Christmas, will be a wise decision just like as with Spider-Man: No WayHome, was. What I find is that people tend to get hyped up over big and exciting movies over the holidays, and the success of No WayHome proves the strategy pays off.

Personally, I think the wait will make the release way better and the wait entirely worth it.
