It's another amazing Monday. This post will be for the battle mage secrets. The theme featured this week is Born Again. In this ruleset, all units can resurrect themselves once. I will be sharing a battle featuring this ruleset and explain some of my strategy and tips to help you get some freelo.
Born again has some interesting strategies. The first strategy is using units that give buffs. The best units that give buffs now are the ones with martyr which gives +1 to all stats to adjacent units. With the self-resurrect from this ruleset, this means that you can buff your units twice! Units with protected or divine shield are great in this ruleset as well since they will reapply the armor from protected or regain their divine shield after resurrecting. To counter the martyr you may want to have units with dispel prepared.
The second strategy is to use a high health and armor unit with void armor. A great example would be like Agor Longtail. This card can tank a lot of DPS with that free revive provided opponent doesn't have any giant killers.
The third strategy would be to use units with scavenge. One of the best units for this that can be used with any element would be Dr Blight. It's a super solid and top tier unit for born again ruleset so I wouldn't be surprised if anybody in gold and above shared their battles this week using Dr Blight.
As for the summoners, there isn't really any specific summoner to play in my opinion. You have to figure out the three strategies I shared above and play around those and almost all summoners can play these strategies. Maybe dragon is a little bit strong or better choice since it gives access to Agor Longtail.
The battle link can be found here. This is a battle I had a few hours ago on my scholar. I've been kind of hovering between champ and diamond but hopefully I can maintain staying in champ once the average rating of everybody inflates. Anyways this battle was a 19 mana cap with Target Practice, Born Again and Lost Magic. Fire element was the only one banned.
Summoner , Kelya - I chose Kelya to play a low mana sneak team highlighting Pelacor Bandit.
First Position, Chaos Agent - This was my frontline tank. It's purpose was to basically to stall as many attacks as possible.
Second Position, Torrent Fiend - Torrent Fiend was a fodder. It was placed at the second position to tank opportunity units.
Third Position, Uraeus - Uraeus was one of my main DPS with sneak to attack the backline with Pelacor Bandit
Fourth Position, Venari Marksrat - This unit was to give martyr buff to my double sneak units. There was target practice ruleset so if opponent played ranged units this could easily die.
Fifth Position, Pelacor Bandit - This was the star of the battle. One of the best three mana units in the game with great damage and speed.
Sixth Position, Noa The Just - This unit was to counter the potential mirror match of enemy playing sneak as well. I'm also lucky to have mine maxed out so it has martyr. It also gives great utility of providing rust which will help my two sneak units clear the enemy backline.
I want to say my lineup perfectly countered the opponent. Noa The Just fended off the opponent's sneak units long enough for my sneak units to kill their entire backline. It was a pretty easy win for me and I'm pretty happy with my lineup. I don't think my opponent had a chance of winning since I didn't even full get to proc both martyrs. I'm also surprised that none of my sneak units missed the Naga Assassins so that was something to note. Even if I did miss a few times, I don't think it would have made a difference in this battle.
Born Again is a fun ruleset but it can also be cancerous to play. I personally think it adds some different strategy and gameplay and makes abilities like scavenge stronger where it normally wouldn't be as strong
