Ten days ago Splinterlands had a townhall. It's the most recent one giving an update on what the Splinterlands team is working on. I will go through my thoughts on the updates mentioned in the townhall that I found interesting or excited about.

We will add new functionality on the Team Creation screen that will attempt to automatically click the button to submit your team if the timer reaches 0 and you have a valid team
This is awesome. I'm looking forward to this change. I've had cases where I was setting up a team and I couldn't submit at the last second. It made me forfeit so I think this could potentially save some unnecessary losses for me and others.

Eternal Tofu is making it's way to the game. There's around 23 days until I can get a claim this new summoner. It looks cute and I'll be guaranteed one. Maybe I will get lucky and get a gold foil one like I did with the last airdrop! I will go over the abilities of this summoner in a post in the future.

Overall Plan
Biggest plan is to get more players to grow the ecosystem
Improving the onboarding experience, including the mobile experience
This will become an ongoing process
After our conversion rates are in place then we will start marketing and promotional campaigns
Will be hiring someone who is an expert in Web3 marketing
He's been saying this for the past few townhalls. I really hope that the plan becomes a success. Splinterlands really needs new players but there are some hurdles with the onboarding so hopefully they can make it easier for new players to get in.
Soulbound Reward Cards
New cards and abilities coming up
When the new soulbound reward cards go out, the current soulbound reward cards will no longer be able to be obtained and will be unbound
If not wrong these are planned to release in August or September so this is exciting. I love the idea of new card and abilities to change the meta. It will also be interesting to see what the market will look like for the unbound soulbound reward cards. I wonder what the prices will be.
Skins
Will be designing a skins and cosmetic system
Skins may include visual effects as well as new card art, as well as different battle field backgrounds
Skins are a no brainer. I've said it many times before like come on league of legends has been doing new skins every patch and they making loads of money from it over the years. Skins is a good way to have for Splinterlands to cover overhead or just money in to the ecosystem.

The townhall also mentioned the DHF proposal to get funding. If I'm not mistaken, there was enough support so Splinterlands will be getting 500k over the course of 6 months so roughly 180 days. As you can see, I have supported the proposal. I hope that Splinterlands can execute their plan. It will help not only the game but of course the ecosystem. I would love to see more people build on Hive because it's super underrated and truly a hidden gem among the blockchains.

Thank you for reading and supporting me. Do you have any thoughts on the last town hall? Are you excited to see how things end up in 6 months. Will this be the way back to one of the top web3 games with hopefully real users and not bots!
