It is a blessing to find a piece of green nature in the mechanical life of the city. When that little bit of nature is nurtured with one's own hands and the desired fruits are obtained from it, the joy knows no bounds. Today I would like to share with you a unique success story from my rooftop garden. My tomato plant has finally bloomed and has produced several small tomatoes. I am truly happy and overwhelmed to see such a wonderful harvest in the rooftop garden.
When the first yellow flowers bloomed on the tree, a different kind of waiting began. Then, when the small, young green tomatoes started to peek out after the flowers, it felt like all the hard work was worthwhile. After the rain, the water droplets accumulated on the tomatoes and the beauty of the fresh leaves increase the liveliness of the garden many times over. Thinking that these young tomatoes will turn into juicy red tomatoes in a few days, my heart is filled with joy.
The experience of growing tomatoes in a rooftop garden is completely different. The way these small plants give us fruits with a little soil in a tub or a specific container is really wonderful. When the flowers first came, I was a little skeptical that they would yield properly? But today, thanks to the infallible laws of nature, my efforts have been successful. Now, quite a good number of tomatoes are growing in clusters on the trees.
Waking up every morning and searching for new tomatoes in this crowd of green leaves is now one of my favorite things to do. The joy of regularly watering the roots of the plants, taking care of them, and watching them grow is beyond words.
This small effort of rooftop gardening reminds us how much nature can spoil us, all it takes is a little care and love. To those of you who are doing rooftop gardening or thinking of starting one, I would say be patient, nature does not disappoint us. I hope the freshness of these tomato flowers and fruits in my garden will inspire you to garden too.
