Today, I suddenly went to the roof of my house to spend the lazy afternoon. The open sky and the dim light of the afternoon made the surroundings look so peaceful. While walking on the roof, my eyes suddenly fell on a small metal object lying there. Maybe a piece of an ordinary mechanical part, which has no special value. But its golden glow and the hole in the middle stood out with a strange geometric beauty.
Seeing this ordinary thing lying there, I thought, if I could do some photography around it, then I thought about it. I took out my smartphone and tried to capture its beauty from different angles.
First, I thought, how would it look if I placed it on the floor of the roof and took a picture with the help of sunlight. When I placed it on the floor, it created a unique contrast with its shadow. The brightness created by the light afternoon light falling on the golden metal surface came out beautifully in the picture. It felt like this simple piece of metal was a piece of art.
Then I picked it up with my fingers and held it in front of the camera. I tried to see the distant environment through the hole in the middle. I didn't know that it was possible to create such beautiful moments from such a simple thing, one frame within another. This impromptu photography session, done without any plan, was very enjoyable for me.
We often neglect many small things around us, consider them unimportant. But if we change our perspective a little, it is possible to find extraordinary aesthetics even in ordinary objects. This small attempt this afternoon has taught me anew that creativity does not only depend on expensive equipment; rather, it depends on our eyes to see. This experience this afternoon is not just a story of taking some pictures, but a great feeling of rediscovering an ordinary object.
