When we go near nature, our eyes usually look for fresh green, colorful flowers or a vast landscape. But have you ever looked closely at a simple, fragmented leaf? Nature is not only beautiful in creation, but also has a strange art hidden in its decay or transformation. A recent photo captured by my camera plunged me into such a deep thought. We usually look for perfect things But looking at the picture, one can see that a green-blue leaf has numerous small and large holes in its surface. The leaf has lost its familiar smoothness due to some insect or the damage of time. Like a geometric design These holes seem to carry a history of their own. How beautiful the leaf looks, even though it is not perfect. It is the law of nature that nothing is permanent here, and no decay is meaningless. These holes in the leaves actually provide the survival resources for some other tiny creature. In other words, by giving away some of itself, the leaf keeps the life cycle of nature going.
This simple leaf reminds us of a profound truth of life. Our lives are not smooth either. Life has its adversities. Hurts and hard times create countless wounds or holes in our minds and bodies. We often regret those wounds. We feel broken or incomplete. But this leaf of nature teaches us that life is about living without breaking down, facing the sun despite our wounds. These scars or flaws are what make us unique. These stories of imperfection are much more fascinating and inspiring than perfection. There is a silent philosophy hidden in every element of nature. We should sometimes take a break from the fatigue of busy life. Paying attention to these small changes around us. One might not have known that even a worn, perforated leaf can provide so much peace and food for thought to the mind if one had not been in close proximity to nature.
