It's not a secret that I love the Peace Dollars. I started collecting them the day I started stacking. In fact, my first carry piece was a Peace Dollar.
In 2021, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Peace Dollar, the United States Mint produced commemorative Peace Dollars. I was just delighted!
They have since produced the 2023 Peace Dollar, the 2023 Reverse Proof Peace Dollar, and the 2024 Peace Dollar Uncirculated coin, and now the 2024 Peace Dollar Proof coin!
2024 Peace Dollar Proof Coin
It is truly a beautifully designed coin. It is Anthony de Francisci's most famous achievement. The Peace Dollar, created by Anthony De Francisci, was initially manufactured in December 1921.
The profile of Liberty is seen on the obverse (heads side), and she is wearing a brilliant crown. "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year of issuance are inscribed on the reverse. A resting eagle holding an olive branch is shown on the reverse (tails) above the word "PEACE."
The Peace Dollar coin came with a Certificate of Authenticity. The coin is encapsulated and presented inside a black box from the United States Mint. The coin is struck at the San Francisco Mint, the mint mark appears on the reverse of coin (by the tail of the eagle).
