Everything Feels Like a LARP Fest

I could very well feel as though there is nothing going on and still feel that everything is. Everything feels like a larp fest, as the youngens may say. The World Cup, for instance, may be due to us at its venue, but still everything I feel and see carries that same strange feeling. I do not mind it, not really. It is more like watching everyone step into a role that somehow becomes more important than the thing itself. Maybe that is just how the world works now, or maybe it always did and I am only noticing it more.

What I cannot quite shake is seeing so many YouTubers, streamers, and personalities suddenly become part of it, even when they never really touched it before. I do not know why it feels less genuine, because as individuals we all do something similar. We all chase our own little moments, our own mediocre desires, hoping someone notices. The difference is that there is no crowd standing over most of us, judging every move we make. Perhaps that is why it feels easier to see the performance in others than it is to see it in ourselves.
