Today I felt like dressing up a little, even though I didn't have anything particularly exciting planned. Sometimes I just wake up wanting to do my makeup, fix my hair, and wear something that makes me feel pretty. And today was definitely one of those days. ❤️
I decided to wear this black off-the-shoulder top that I really like. It's simple, comfortable, and has that little elegant touch without being too formal. I also added my black lace choker because I think it goes perfectly with this kind of outfit.
And of course, I couldn't forget the red lipstick. Haha! 💄
I know I've been wearing red lipstick quite a lot lately, but I really love how it looks with black clothes. There's something about that combination that always makes me feel more confident.
My hair was another story. I spent a good amount of time brushing and straightening it because I wanted it to look smooth and fall nicely over my shoulders. Thankfully, it cooperated with me today, which is something I definitely appreciate. 😂
Once I finished getting ready, I looked in the mirror and thought I should take a picture before my hair decided to change its mind.
So I grabbed my phone, found a spot with decent lighting, and started taking selfies.
I tried smiling in some of them, but I ended up liking this more serious expression. I think it matches the outfit and makeup better. Besides, I don't always have to smile in every picture, even though I usually end up laughing at myself while taking them.
The funniest thing is that I wasn't even going anywhere special. I just wanted to look nice for myself, and I think that's a perfectly good reason to get dressed up.
I spend plenty of days wearing comfortable clothes, working on my little projects, checking things on my phone, and trying to get everything done. So whenever I have a chance to spend some extra time on myself, I enjoy it.
I also like experimenting with different styles. Some days I prefer something sweet and casual, and other days I want darker clothes, stronger makeup, and a more elegant look.
Today I was definitely in the mood for the second option. 🖤
Anyway, this is one of my favorite selfies from today. I really liked how my hair, lipstick, and outfit came together.
Now I'm just hoping my makeup stays looking this nice for the rest of the day, because I definitely don't feel like doing it all over again. Haha! 😂 ❤️
