What a coincidence! I was initially going to talk about my first Thanksgiving experience in the United States when I stumbled upon the Inleo monthly prompt and I was surprised that there’s a full calendar of what to post daily. I love the whole concept and today's topic so I decided to make a post on it. So I will be talking about both topics simultaneously.

This year has been remarkable and I have so much to be thankful for. Although I had my ups and downs, nevertheless it would be ungrateful of me not to express my gratitude, as my good wishes have significantly outweighed my difficulties in 2024.

Last year was particularly tough as it felt as though everything was falling apart and you know what they say? No one can truly prepare for unexpected circumstances. Nevertheless, I was able to put myself together and make the most of the year. I am profoundly grateful for the friends and family around me, those who genuinely cared for my well-being and happiness, Who supported and encouraged me during difficult times, and who consistently reminded me of the reasons to find joy. I am grateful for life itself and optimistic about what 2025 will bring.

Additionally, I appreciate the gift of good health and the opportunity to begin the year with my family together and conclude it together as well in one piece.

I recall at the start of the year when I had to write out my resolutions, with the first one being to get married, don't judge, I come from a background where marriage holds significant importance. This year I was fortunate to marry the person I have always wished to spend the rest of my life with. My favorite cousin got married to her long-time lover too hehehe. Additionally, I received a much-deserved promotion at my job although it came a bit later than I had anticipated as I was planning to resign to relocate to reunite with my husband in the United States s. Although the journey was challenging, it ultimately came to fruition.

On a different note, thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated annually in November. It is a day set aside for family and friends to come together and express their gratitude. The occasion serves to strengthen family bonds, as nearly every American partakes in this tradition. The holiday often features a grand meal that includes a large turkey, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, macaroni and cheese, various desserts, and more.

In my husband's family, each member has a culinary specialty. My husband did a great job in preparing the turkey, fried rice, and macaroni and cheese. The preparation of the turkey proved to be the most challenging part but he did it anyway.

Once the food was ready, we got dressed and proceeded to the home of the host family to meet with the rest of the family. Upon our arrival, we exchanged warm greetings and then moved to the dining area, where we enjoyed the meal and reflected on the blessings in our lives, expressing our gratitude for them. We also participated in different game activities.

As the year is coming to an end in a few weeks, I find myself looking forward to the opportunities that 2025 will present.
