Curry y cianuro, es uno de los mejores documentales de crímenes que he visto, donde se aprecia el trabajo de investigación periodística para narrar los hechos, desde el inicio biográfico de la asesina hasta sus posibles móviles, con entrevistas exclusivas de quienes la acusaron y de su hijo mayor. También con imágenes inesperadas de la última visita a la cárcel.
Esto sucedió en la India en el año 2019, cuando se descubre que una respetada profesora universitaria estaba involucrada con 6 muertes de su familia, denuncia que hicieron sus excuñados; con poca evidencia lograron exhumar los cuerpos de 5 personas que no se les hizo autopsias entre ellos su primer esposo y los padres de él, es decir sus suegros e iniciaron una fuerte investigación y más adelante un juicio, al comprobarse que más de un fallecimiento fue producto del cianuro.
El cianuro no es un producto de fácil acceso, ¿de dónde lo obtuvo?, se conoce que cualquier cuerpo que tenga contacto con él moriría de inmediato, lo que hace difícil evitar las sospechas, pero esto no es un impedimento para una mente psicópata, Jolly Joseph planifica sus muertes con alevosía cuidando todos los detalles, nada se interponía entre sus deseos ni siquiera una pequeña bebé.
Curry and Cyanide is one of the best crime documentaries I have seen, showing the work of journalistic investigation to narrate the events, from the killer's biographical background to their possible motives, with exclusive interviews from those who accused her and her eldest son. Also with unexpected images from the last visit to the prison.
This happened in India in 2019, when it was discovered that a respected university professor was involved in the deaths of 6 family members, a report made by her former in-laws; with little evidence, they managed to exhume the bodies of 5 people who had not undergone autopsies, including her first husband and his parents, her in-laws, and began a thorough investigation and later a trial, as it was confirmed that more than one death was due to cyanide.
Cyanide is not a readily available product, where did she get it from? Todos sus pasos fueron revelados en el documental y finaliza con una entrevista entre la asesina y quien la descubre su excuñada, quien la visitó en la cárcel para exigir que dejara tranquilos a sus propios hijos y cesara la manipulación. Aprovechó para preguntarle: ¿Por qué había hecho eso?, respondiendo con versículos de la Biblia, diciendo que ella iba a ir al cielo, ya que Jesús y Dios la perdonarían.
Sin un arrepentimiento verdadero, dudo que esto pase, y es irónico ver este tipo de hechos dentro de una familia y comunidad religiosa, pero la maldad puede estar en cualquier lugar y persona que permita que allí habite. Me despido invitándote a ver este documental transmitido en Netflix. Hay muchas cosas que no revele que te pueden sorprender, evite dar spoiler para que lo disfrutes.
All her steps were revealed in the documentary and it closes with an interview between the killer and her former sister-in-law, who visited her in prison to demand that she leave her own children alone and stop the manipulation. She took the opportunity to ask her: Why did she do that?, answering with Bible verses, saying that she would go to heaven, as Jesus and God would forgive her.
Without genuine remorse, I doubt that will happen, and it is ironic to see these kinds of events within a family and religious community, but evil can reside anywhere and in anyone who allows it to.
