For the past 8 years since I finished high school, I have been at a higher institution. I went through college and, from there, went on to the university to study mechatronics engineering. Right from my younger age, I have loved technology; I have been obsessed with it. I have written so many posts talking about how I have been operating phones so well from a younger age and how I have been able to save to buy them. I have also been great at using computers at that young age and had a 50 WPM typing speed before the age of 13.

MY COURSE OF STUDY AND CAREER PATH

This is how I came to be studying mechatronics engineering at the university. Mechatronics is similar to studying robotics, and it has been my interest since I was a teenager, and right now, my interest has grown into learning artificial intelligence.

At the moment, I am taking courses online to learn Artificial Intelligence while studying at the university. I must say that it is not easy as my consistency for my online studies is wavering, and if I am to have the opportunity to take my education into a Masters or Ph.D. after finishing my Bsc. in Mechatronics Engineering, I would choose to go for a Masters in Robotics and A.I. outside my country.

I believe that there are opportunities available for me to learn this course professionally, and there are better facilities available for learning this course in more developed countries. The educational system in my country is poor, and I don't think there is much it can offer. Moreover, there is no masters programme available for that course presently in Nigeria, and even if there is, with the way the system of education is here, I would choose to leave the country.

WHY I CHOOSE A TECH CAREER PATH

Also, this career would take me into the tech industry, and the reason I am choosing to go into the tech industry is because of the opportunities it offers. The major opportunity is to work from home. I am not the type of person who likes going out or letting Monday through Friday be tied to leaving my house. The joy of staying at home or being able to do so at any place and at any time is what I want, as is having time for the family and future kids.

The second reason for choosing this career is obviously the pay involved. Programmers and other available tech careers get paid a good salary. These skills are high-income skills and would put me in a position of financial stability. With this income, I would be able to build my wealth, plan for retirement, sustain my family, and also contribute to the lives of people around me.

The last reason is because of passion. Tech has been my passion since I was a little kid. I don't think there would be any other job I would do that would make me happier than doing a tech job. Attaining this would build my self-esteem and make me a happier person in life.

WHAT DIFFERENCE WOULD IT MAKE?

The full question here is: Would it make any difference if I chose not to further my education?

I would say it would make a lot of difference, and the difference would be the opportunities and relationships I would be open to. If I don't further my education, then I would not be open to these opportunities; I would not be able to learn from people I would meet over there, and also, with further education, it increases my probability of having a job based on the relationships, connections, skills, and knowledge I would have built.

Doing this is important to me and to my whole life itself.
