My trip to Kedarnath was the most spiritually enriching and breathtakingly beautiful experience I ever had. Kedarnath Dham is a popular Hindu temple, situated in the lap of Garhwal Himalayas. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples of Lord Shiva. Lying against the backdrop of the magnificent Himalayan Range, at an altitude of 3580 meters. The temple and nature’s milieu is so divine that it always rekindles human beings faith in the Almighty. It was so blessed feeling on getting to the top.

The devotees experience immense peace of mind while undertaking a Kedanath temple spiritual tour. Before going ahead with my experince, I like to highlight few of the facts that made it a divine place.

  • Kedarnath Dham is believed to be more than 5000+ years old. It was built by Pandavas (Mahabharata). The temple was built in an attempt receive pardon from Lord Shiva after performing their penance for Mahabharat bloodshed.

  • The Kedarnath Shivling is unique & is in the form of a Bull Hump. The shiva lingam is triangular in shape which is very different from the other lingams which are cylindrical in shape.

  • Kedarnath trek is one of the toughest religious trek. It requires a good level of physical fitness. As shared befpre, the trek starts from Gaurikund and continues till Kedarnath covering a distance of Total 22 Km in the hilly terrain of the Mighty Himalayas.

  • The temple remains closed for Darshan (public visit) for 6 months during winter. During this time the entire region gets engulfed in snow and experiences freezing temperatures. The Main Deity is Shifted from Kedarnath Temple to Ukhimath.

  • The esearchers have found that Kedarnath Dham temple was covered entirely in snow for almost 400 years. Despite this the temple survived without any harm to the temple structure.

  • In 2013, the area was completelly wiped and devastated by the flash floods. Still the temple remain unharmed, Unmoved. This is enough to prove the presence of divine power.

On my successful trek to the Kedarnath Temple the view against the backdrop of the beautiful Himalayas, the glaciers, and alpine forests was mesmerizing. Everyone, who made it to the top experience immense peace of mind. The charm and divine aura of the shrine has spectacular attractions on offer.

I was enjoying my trek, The trek was steep and passing through rocky path. The trek involved crossing several streams and waterfalls, which added to the thrill and excitement of the journey. The experince of walking through beautiful landscapes of the Himalayas, including lush green forests, sparkling streams and waterfalls made our journey very memorsble.

The trek was not easy and we are feeling it with each step. It was too steep to climb. Now and then my body was were giving up. Everytime we see a sign board, it help us to pump a bit, as the distance was getting shorter and shorter. We used to take a sigh of relief.

In middle of entire route, I was checking on my nephew condition They were already given up looking at their condition, I arranged them a mule. I do not wanted to spoil my trek adventure to end in any kind of mishappening. They went ahead, and slowly and slowly I started climbing onto my foot "one step at a time:. In betwen I was panting, I was talking to fellow climbers. We use to motivate each other. It was so strange that the even faces gets so friendly in our trek. May be it was the magic of the place where we

My nephew made it to the the top, while I have still few kilometer to walk. It was around 2PM when I made up to the base camp. I stopped at a local shop and had some chocolate to get some energy. it was the horse /mule stand too. The clouds covered the entire region, even we had few drizzle, makjng the temperature to cold.

The joy of reaching the top was immense. It was matter of time that I will be seeing the temple. My tired legs started to move fast even after trekking 22km. It was the magic that I was feeling there. The divine power is doing everything. And moved rapidly towards the temple location.

Behind the temple we found the big boulder, which saves rhe temple from any kind of damage. It is now being referred as Bhimshila In 2013 Kedarnath town was almost completely destroyed. The temple on the center of the town was literally the epicenter, and it faced the first attack and full brunt of mother nature.

monstrous boulder (this magic rock) slid down the mighty Himalayas and just stopped short of the 7th century temple at raised ground of 10 feet. It diverted the boulders away from the temple and let minimal water above the rock.

A few more feet of sliding, the temple wont be standing. A few less feet of sliding, the temple wont be standing. This is what makes the place so divine and powerful. Everyone will feel the presence of divine power in the lap of mother nature and Himalayas.

There is a saying that one can only visit him, when he desires it. The feeling of trekking to the highest-placed jyotirlinga just adds enough drama to the place to allure people looking for some thrill.

Hope you enjoy the little trekking adventure How I get here ?
