Hello Lovers of Drinks
After a long time, I am here in this community where everyone is lover of drinks. Today, i ignited my spirit to make "Juice of My Favorite Fruit".
Phalsa Fruit
A deep a darkly purplish color fruit is Phalsa/ Falsa. This fruit is also known as "Indian Sherbet Berry". My face became wide with smile when I got to know that this fruit has origin in Indian Subcontinent. "Sherbet" is word which we use to refer to Drinks. So, it's fruit mainly for drinks. Well, the scientific name of this fruit is Grewia asiatica.
This fruit is widely loved in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and in other Asian Countries.
Why it's my favorite
In summer season, it's my favorite fruit to use in drinks. Although I love other summer fruits like mangoes and peach but Falsa is ultimate fruit to use in drinks because it's taste is citrus and it's color is different from all other fruits.
Overall, this fruit is full of nutrients as all others like protein, potassium, vitamins and carbohydrates. So, all these nutrients are beneficial to stay alive and thrive in this hot summer.
Ingredients
- Falsa Fruit
- Salt ( half table spoon)
- Sugar (5 table spoons)
- Water (one litre bottle)
- ice cubes
( I made four glass of falsa drink and these ingredients are according to those four glasses. You can use according to your own preferences).
Let's Start
First of all, I picked every ingredients and kept them close to me so that I didn't have to get up again and again.
A bowl of Falsa is infront of me along with sugar and black salt. Their combination will be great.
I always have enjoyed this drink in my university but I could not make this drink for myself. Every time I have to order from the juice bar but today I am making this drink by myself.
Here's black salt which is perfect to give a little salty taste to this drink. Black salt is not natural salt but it is made by efforts.
Here I have these ice cubes which will add coldness to falsa drink. I cannot take this drink without adding ice into it because it's compensation of all the heat waves which are waving outside.
I picked juicer machine and started pouring it with all the Falsa which I have in bowl. Falsa was sliding down from bowl and resting in the juicer machine.
Here are all these falsa who will be crushed in seconds and will become sweet citrus fruit juice. I am waiting for that!
At second step, I picked black salt and added it in falsa.

On third step, you have to add sugar into it so that sweetness can flow in your drink and it will taste good. My cameraman( sister) was also waiting for phalsa drink to get ready. So that she can also taste it.
It's fourth step when the juice is about to ready. Add water according to your preference but keep in mind the percentage of other ingredients. I always remain anxious that whether sugar is enough to taste sugar or not?
I kept my hand over the lid of juicer machine. Sorry but lid is open. It's open minded like all of us 😆. I have so many complaints with my home mates. They have nothing which is complete and intact. Everything is broken 😆.
At last, I added ice cubes so that juice gets winter feel.
It's time to feel every drop of Falsa Juice but there is one hurdle which is seeds of falsa which are mixed in juice. To separate these seeds from falsa juice, I used sieve to filter them out.
I waited a little so that every drop drips down in the Jug.
After all, I filled one glass for myself.It's really yummy and delicious one.
Everyone was waiting for his turn to taste it. I gave Jug to my sister so that she can distribute glasses to Aunt,Mama and to Papa.
