Sailor Moon, from the 1990s, is considered one of the Japanese series that redefined the genre. It not only featured magical girls with superpowers, but its characters left a lasting mark on a generation, transcending borders far beyond Japan. It achieved such global success that it defied barriers of gender and race. This anime showcased, for the first time, true female empowerment, a concept previously only seen in male characters.

Tuvo tanto 茅xito a nivel mundial que desafi贸 las barreras entre g茅nero y raza. Este anim茅 demostr贸 por primera vez el verdadero empoderamiento femenino que s贸lo se mostraba en personajes masculinos.
It has over 200 episodes, many of which are filler, but they're so well done that they're worth watching. Each one is packed with action and comedy, adding a bit more depth to the manga's story, and you can also see the development of characters who play a significant role in the manga. I really liked that the main character turned out to be a clumsy, crybaby girl with simple interests who was always longing for her Prince Charming. This made it easy for me to empathize with many girls worldwide when she was chosen as a heroine鈥攜ou don't need to be special to have superpowers, you just need to be yourself.
Cuenta con m谩s de 200 episodios y muchos son de relleno, pero est谩n tan bien hechos que valen la pena verlos. Cada uno est谩 cargado de acci贸n y comedia que le agregan a la historia del manga un poco m谩s de esencia, as铆 como tambi茅n se puede ver el desarrollo de personajes que tienen muy participaci贸n dentro del manga. Me gust贸 mucho que el personaje principal resultara ser una chica torpe, llorona, con intereses simples y que siempre estuviera anhelando a su pr铆ncipe azul. Esto hizo que cuando la eligieran como heroina, empatizara con muchas chicas a nivel mundial que no es necesario ser especial para poder tener superpoderes, s贸lo debes ser tu misma.
In other words, through her, they show the first heroine to be vulnerable, to make mistakes, and to reveal her weaknesses. And I think this is what caused a worldwide sensation, allowing many girls of Serena's age to empathize with her and identify with being part of the Sailor Moon team. Adding other girls with different, contrasting personalities also highlighted this detail, which delighted her entire fanbase.
Es decir, que a trav茅s de ella muestran la primera hero铆na ser vulnerable, en cometer errores y mostrar sus debilidades. Y creo que esto fue lo que caus贸 furor a nivel mundial para que muchas ni帽as de la edad de Serena empatizaran con ella y se identificaran con formar parte del equipo Sailor Moon. Por lo que agregar a otras chicas con diferentes personalidades que contrastan entre s铆, tambi茅n resalt贸 este detalle que le encant贸 a toda su banda de fans.
And just like Sakura Card Captors, Serena had to fight week after week against a new enemy who brought many surprises, and as the group of Sailor Guardians grew, their opponents became stronger and more challenging. This was one of the things I enjoyed most about it; it was a completely different story that was difficult to predict, although, because of the common factor that the good guys always won, you could guess how it would end, but watching the events unfold was very entertaining and fun.
Y al igual que Sakura Card Captors, Serena ten铆a que luchar semana tras semana contra un nuevo enemigo que tra铆a consigo muchas sorpresas y a medida que el grupo de Sailors crec铆a, sus oponentes se iban volviendo m谩s fuertes y desafiantes. Esto fue una de las cosas que m谩s me gustaba ver, era una historia totalmente diferente y que era dificil de predecir, aunque por el factor com煤n en el que siempre ganaban los buenos, se sab铆a cu谩l podr铆a ser su decenlase pero ver el proceso de c贸mo ocurr铆an los hechos era muy entretenido y divertido.
I've only seen the first version, the one with all those hilarious filler episodes, and I know a new storyline came out that's more focused on the manga. I haven't seen Sailor Moon Crystal, but I've heard great things about it. I've only seen the opening, and as a fan of the series, I really liked it, so I plan to watch it as soon as I get a chance and share my thoughts. By the way, my favorite Sailor Moons are Sailor Mars, Sailor Pluto, and Sailor Saturn. Who's your favorite?
S贸lo he visto la primera versi贸n, aquella con todos los episodios divertid铆simos de relleno y s茅 que sali贸 una nueva historia m谩s enfocada a lo que sale en el manga. Sailor Moon Cristal, no la he visto, pero he escuchado muy buenas cr铆ticas al respecto. Yo solo he visto el opening y como fan de esta serie, me ha gustado bastante, as铆 que pienso verla en lo que tenga una oportunidad para traerles mi opini贸n. Por cierto, mis Sailors Moon favoritas son: Sailor Mars, Sailor Plut贸n y Sailor Saturno, cu谩l es la favorita de ustedes?
