What's with the red heart?
The Lang Toun....
I live in a small town in the Kingdom of Fife in Scotland. It is nicknamed The Lang Toun meaning The Long Town because it is long!
Fife is a county on the East coast of Scotland, and Kirkcaldy is on the sea.
Traditionally it was the home of linoleum and has a huge history in coal mining.
We are also across the water from Edinburgh the capital city of Scotland and where I grew up. Edinburgh of course is much larger and full of historical buildings and tourist attractions.
But let's see some of the places tourists and locals can visit in Kirkcaldy.
Note I shall say things from the top of my head and they will not be in any particular order.
The Esplanade
I think it was about 1926 during the Great Depression that they built the promenade. It was something for people to occupy themselves until the economy improved.
This really shows why the town is called long!
Each year at the end of April they host the Lamas fair where all the fairground attractions come to the seafront at Kirkcaldy.
Those two pictures were taken high up in a Big Wheel.
The Heart
To brighten up the Esplanade acouple of years ago this great big red heart was installed as a photo opp for people.
It was made by a local father and son blacksmiths. 
Seafield Tower and Seal Colony
The Seafield area of Kirkcaldy is home to the remains of a five hundred year old tower.
The Fife coastal trail runs along side it, so there are lots of visitors.
Not only does the Tower have great views, as it is on the beach you sea the sea. It is also home to our local seal colony.
Ravenscraig Castle
The castle is closed to the public at the moment whilst they repair things and make it safe.
You do get the most gorgeous views from the parapet like this view, you can see why the town is called the Lang Toun.
Beveridge Park
I often post about Beveridge Park on my main account as it is only five minutes walk from my house.
It has lots of features including the boat pond with birds.
There are numerous walks through trees including one to see the wizard!
Raith Rovers Football Ground
These photos are taken right from my house and yes I live opposite a football ground.
The club is now a community hub and has an artificial pitch. They play in the second tier in Scotland and narrowly missed promotion last season to the top division.
Personally I think they should be in the division they are in, keep the crowds happy, sometimes it is better to drop a level and keep winning than go up a level and keep losing.
We want positivity yes?
There we have it and those are some of the touristic places off the top of my head. I know I could have added others like Dysart harbour and that area where I think filming was down for some TV series Outlander or something and there is the big Ravenscraig park, volunteers green... No I shall stop before we make another article within an article!
