This topic .... talks to me and my mirror

Let me tell you a story ~ as to why I stopped comparing myself to others
I went to school in Edinburgh in Scotland. When I was 10 my father moved the family to a group of islands off the north coast of Scotland.
I stayed behind at school but now as a boarder.
I was there for three months at a time then would fly home for the holidays then go back for another three month term.
We stayed in dorms at school.
I remember my first dorm had six boys in it.
I was head of the dorm, quite ironic as being born in August I was actually the youngest of the six.
So we had me the white British boy, then a boy from India, a white Australian from Hong Kong, a Chinese from Hong Kong, a black boy from Sierre Leone and a black boy from Uganda.
It was like a mini version of the United Nations. Talk about six different looking boys. Different skin colour, different hair types, different noses and eyes, even our fluffing voices were all different. We gre in spurts all differently.
Did I want to be any of them?
Fluff no! I love my nose, my hazel eyes with a hint of almond thank you very much I am happy being me.
Then we played alot of sports, some were faster, some were stronger but we were all different.
We are all unique
I remember going home and a friend said he wanted to be like so and so .....
My reaction ...

Yes ... I said Why?
Then then reeled off some ridiculous sounding nonsense to me. Like Charlie has the most friends in school, I want to be like him....
I think it affects girls more than boys.
Back when I was a child we had no social media.
I got away with bloody murder as things were not recorded for the world to see....
So we had much less peer or social pressure to deal with.
Now you have all these so called influencers who have all their flaws ironed out telling people to do or be this that or the other!
What a load of fluffing nonsense.
If they are so wonderful and so happy, why do half of them end up plastered alll over the internet sobbing about failed relationships or some other codswallop...

Did you look in that mirror?
Go do it if you haven't. Look in the mirror and point your finger.
Side story I was talking to someone this afternoon who is the most amazing intelligent and beautiful young lady who suffers from low self-esteem... I cannot get my head around this .... but she needs to do this ....
Now look at the person the finger is pointing at in the mirror.
Repeat after me ....
"You are awesome
You are fluffing awesome
Oh yes you are!"
Of course that person is you.

I don't do negative
So I don't compare myself to others....
What does it prove? What purpose does it serve? Like I said before nowadays there is far too much social media pressure put on young people, and actually I mean everyone.
I can say No and I can say fluff you.
I don't do worry and I don't do stress.
Comparing myself to others would only bring negative experiences...
For example why do I have to have this fcuker ofa disease Ankylosing Spondylitus... why doesn't that person have it?
No it is a dangerous road to go down.
Why do something that makes you feel worthless...
If even the most amazing of young ladies can suffer from low self-esteem why the fluff would I compare myself to others?
I am not perfect ... but I am fluffing me!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my response to the prompt.
