It's exciting!

I just had a double whammy of the fantastic type!

First of all I turned 75! It has been awhile, I saw it coming, and it did seem to take forever and a day, but finally it came.

I could stand tall and puff out my chest!

I turned 75 🎉 🥳 🎉

Where's your walking stick you might be saying, but of course I am talking about Reputation.

For fun I thought I would see what my Gemini AI said about reputation...

Reputation score on the Hive blockchain is a measure of a user's standing within the community. It's calculated based on the upvotes and downvotes their posts and comments receive, as well as the reputation of the users who interact with their content.

I know it is something that is not perfect as there are some amazing community members who don't make posts etc....

However, I will take the 75 and in my wee head be a user of good standing!

I will be sharing screengrabs from hivebuzz and hivestats throughout this article.

For example we shall kick off with hivebuzz....

So as you can see my Reputation score is 75.19

One thing I have not understood is how reputation is shown on different Hive front ends ...

PeakD has me at 70.34

whilst ecency and Inleo both have me correctly at 75

Hive does have it's quirks at times, so I will take the ecency, Inleo and more importantly hivebuzz score!

Hitting 10k HP

Whilst it is nice to be recognised with a good Reputation score for me hitting the five digit mark in staked Hive really is a huge milestone I feel!

I know many people get upset with users treating Hive purely like an ATM so when people keep the staked Hive I believe it is a sign that they believe in the platform and the blockchain.

Just like in real life, things can be unfair, but the more we put into something then the more we can get back out!

To celebrate my double whammy I am writing this post in the community for which I am a moderator and for the people that kept me on the chain through some doubting moments.

Interestingly whilst my Rep score is in 676th place my Hive Power score has me at 1405th place.

Considering the chain is 8 years old (including the legacy ... ) and I have only been here for 3 years I am pretty chuffed with that achievement!

Where else can you build a crypto portfolio for free?

Some might see me as a whingeing old git at times that doesn't like anybody but that is so far from the truth.

Hive mirrors real life in so many ways. You don't have to like someone to respect what they do and bring to the chain.

But if people start from scratch and really put the effort it naturally without forcing things then you can reap the benefits.

So come on then, tell me where else you can have accumulated a portfolio of 10000 Hive (plus other layer 2 tokens) for no investment other than time?

Stay for the people (oh yes and the crypto of course!)

Okay I heard the Came for the Crypto, stayed for the People quotes and whilst I can safely say I stayed during the rough times because of certain people (yes looking at you @coquicoin and @deraaa) I now stay because of the crypto and the people and I won't pretend otherwise.

My current stats

I do love my figures so here I have tabulated some ... based on my hivebuzz

Quite an interesting set of figures, I know when I started I was non stop commenting which is reflected in that there are only 138 people who made more comments than me, considering I joined 5 years after it started I am chuffed with that!

Of course it is all about the people for engagement, so to everyone that engages on Hive --- a big thank you! Without you this place would be boring af!

Thank you to all the community members I am involved in and of course a big thank to my fellow Silverators in Silver Bloggers @lizelle @fionasfavourites @coquicoin and @mondoshawan

I know I will keep on Hiving

Talking of which I am working on getting new users to the blockchain.... Let's see what 2025 brings!

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful new week!
