This last week I took a few days off and didn't have a chance to post my #ninetiesfriday post. In order to catch myself up today I will be doing the two for one special once again by mixing #threetunetuesday with #ninetiesfriday in my post today. It was a lot of fun last time so lets get thick train wreck started!
First off I want to thank @ablaze for starting and continuing to sponsor Three Tune Tuesday every week and @geneeverett for starting Nineties Friday and continuing to sponsor it weekly. In the Tuesday event you can hear music from around the world and there is always great new music I've never heard before. On Friday it's anything from the 1990's, music, movies, TV shows, clothing, and your creativity is the only limit!
Instead of a custom header this week I am sharing this really nice Pez dispenser of Tweety from Bugs Bunny fame. What does this have to do with the 1990's you may ask? This particular model was was first produced in the 1980's, but it's appearance on a show called Seinfeld made it iconic. The episode was appropriately named "The Pez Dispenser".
Seinfeld

A true Seinfeld classic!
Because I'm a member of the #silvergoldstackers I couldn't resist sharing another Pez dispenser. I wouldn't recommend eating the candy in this one because they are solid silver bars make by PAMP Suisse. You get six of these five gram silver bars with the dispenser. They have been making these for the last several years, unfortunately they haven't made a Tweety one yet. But we can all hold out hope!

From eBay.com
New ones from this year are a July 4th celebratory edition and run about $105 US, but the emoji version I found on eBay for around $75. This may best be bought on the secondary market if they continue to drop in price once they sell out at the mainstream sources. Silver did take a hit today in price, it's down to $29.62, so maybe it's a chance to buy the dip? The next few days should be very telling if it's going back up or trend downward.

Friends

Yet another classic show from the 90's. I was reminded of this episode while helping move a mattress up the stairs this past weekend. And I think we've all had the joy of moving furniture up the stairs in the past. I keep swearing that I'll never help do it again, I'm getting to old to do that fun stuff anymore!
Now for some music from the 1990's since it is Three Tune Tuesday after all!

Red Hot Chili Peppers

timesofisrael.com
Formed in Los Angeles, California in 1982 they took the better part of a decade to become a household name. They have always been one of my favorite bands since I saw them live in the late 1980's. They only put out three albums in the 90's and they were all great, but this comes from "Californication" released in 1999, none other than "Californication":

** No Doubt**

Formed in 1986 in Anaheim, California with front woman Gwen Stefani. They started as a ska/punk band however their albums failed to sell very well despite great live appearance. In 1995 they released the album "Tragic Kingdom" and it changed everything. They quickly became one of the hottest bands in the world. This song came off the same album, "Spiderwebs":

Candlebox

tuneoftheday.blogspot.com
Candlebox is a band formed in Seatlle, Washington in 1990. In 1993 they released their self titled debut album which didn't get much attention until the release of the single "Far Behind" which quickly shot up to number 18 on the Billboard 200 the following year. Here's "Far Behind""

And as always since I spent to majority of the 1990's living in countries that really only spoke Spanish, I like to include one or two songs from the era in Spanish
Los Prisioneros

comunidaria.com
Los Prisioneros (The Prisoners) were a Chilean rock band formed in 1982 and dissolving in 1991. They were one of the most influential bands in Latin America transforming music away from more traditional to rock/ pop sound. They were heavily influenced by the bands The Clash and Depeche Mode. Their music was heavily influenced by the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet who ran Chile from 1973 until 1990 after a successful coup said to have been backed by the CIA. This song comes from the album "Corazones" (Hearts) and is called "Tren Al Sur" (Train to the South)
