I had been hoping for a nice sunny Christmas Day here in southern California. Mother Nature, it seems, had some different plans in mind. This morning I woke up to lightning, thunder, and heavy rain. The best best part is it's supposed to do this for three solid days! One of the joys of living by the ocean, when big weather systems move in they can chase the sun away for several days. But it sure beats hurricanes in the Caribbean!

Today is Christmas Eve and I had been hoping for some nice crypto news today, but Santa didn't deliver on that front. However, he has been delivering in the precious metals arena! I don't personally own all that many silver or gold items that are holiday related. Most of my life my collecting has been focused more on coins and bars of precious metal, and only recently have I started to pick up some more holiday related items.

This year there are so many nice silver Christmas items for sale, however, since the price of silver is so high I can't afford most of them right now! I can't complain though, since what I do own is much more valuable now. I decided to look on APMEX for any silver I might be able to afford for this Christmas and they have some great sales right now. One that caught my eye is this one, a beautiful reindeer silver round.

For those unfamiliar with silver rounds they are pure silver in the shape of a coin, but aren't usually issued by a government and do not have a stated denomination on them. Often they come at much better prices than coins for that reason alone, but not always. This one is one Troy ounce of .999 pure silver and on sale for $2.49 over spot, as of writing the asking price is $74.64. Not too bad considering silver is just above $71!

Alas, it's out of my budget after gift purchases and paying down some medical bills. But it's still pretty and very festive!

Santa this year really has delivered on silver prices. At the start of this year prices were under $30 per Troy ounce of silver, now they are in record high territory about $70. And the rocket ride looks like it's far from over with continued shortages in refining and overwhelming demand worldwide. The next big question on many people's minds is whether or not silver will hit $100 soon? That I don't know, but the way things look now it wouldn't surprise me!

Just have a look at silver prices over the last five days:

Another metal to keep your eye on is copper, it's also been surging recently. To be honest most precious metals are a great bet right now. But silver and gold are my favorites. If you don't have your own stash I recommend starting one and keep adding to it as often as possible. Before long you will have a very nice stack of precious metals that will always have value even if inflation destroys the price of fiat around the world!

That will wrap up my Christmas Eve post for this year, and it's a very rainy one! Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below and thank you for all of your support. It really does mean a lot to me! Merry Christmas everyone!
