A few weeks ago I did a #threetunetuesday on the band KISS because I had found a really cool coin commemorating their 50 year anniversary. They also has another one for the band Aerosmith, only two bands I'm aware of that have their own commemorative coin issues by a sovereign government. As a member of #silvergoldstackers it was just too nice not to share with this #ttt. So today I'll be doing Aerosmith for Three Tune Tuesday.
First off I would like to thank @ablaze for starting and sponsoring the weekly event. Here you can hear all sorts of music from all over the world, and it's a lot of fun. If you haven't joined in the fun why not give it a try and create a post for this week or maybe the next. One winner is chosen weekly to receive 12 HSBI, not too shabby if I say so myself!
First off check out this really nice gold coin made of .9999 fine gold and weighs one Troy ounce produced by the island nation of Niue. They also produce a silver variety and some colored ones, but there colored ones just weren't nice enough to bother sharing.

About the coin:

I love how the obverse of the coin looks like a gold record with the Niue coat of arms in the middle. Their coins usually show the British monarch so it's a nice change in my opinion. This one is way out of my price range with an asking price of $2,471 US, but you have to admit it is cool. Only 50 were produced so it's very likely the will appreciate in value over the years. But now time to move onto the main event, Three Tune Tuesday.
Aerosmith

Aerosmith formed as a band in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970. The lineup consists of Steven Tyler as the lead vocalist, Joe Perry and Brad Woodford on guitar, Tom Hamilton on bass, and Joey Kramer on drums. In 1973 they released their self titled debut album, although it wasn't promoted well making it a bit of a disappointment at first. However people began to take notice and the album has gone on to become multi-platinum. It considered an extremely influential record by many artists, in fact Guns N' Roses said helped them formulate their sound as a band.
In the years since they have released fourteen more studio albums and are considered on of the greatest US rock bands of all time. They had their fair amount of problems caused by infighting and drug use causing both guitarists to leave the band around 1980. They returned in in 1984 but the band was struggling with record sales until they teamed up with rap band Run-D.M.C. in 1986 and remade "Walk This Way". This collaboration returned them to the top of the charts. They're a great band!
Let's start today with "Mama Kin" off of their first album:
Next up is one of their biggest hits, which came off their 1975 record "Toys In The Attic", here's "Sweet Emotion":
Next up also off of "Toys In The Attic", here's the original "Walk This Way":

And as a bonus I have to share one more version of "Walk This Way", the Run-D.M.C. collaboration. This was when I really got to know Aerosmith as a band, growing up in the early 80's Aerosmith had lost a lot of their connection with the younger listeners. But this version showed up on MTV as a music video and it changed everything. It's a lot of fun, have a listen!
That will pretty much wrap up my Three Tune Tuesday for this week. I hope you like the gold coin and the Aerosmith tunes. There are just too many good songs to share on just one post...I'll have to do some more in the future! Thanks for all of your support everyone, it's greatly appreciated! Have a great Tuesday!
