Hello again everyone! It's the Tuesday before Halloween, which can only mean it's time for a Three Tune Tuesday Halloween party! But before we dive into some of the music, first off I want to thank @ablaze for starting and continuing to sponsor the weekly event. I've been participating for more than a year and it really is a lot of fun. If you don't already participate all you need to do is create a post sharing three tunes that you love and use the tag #threetunetuesday or #ttt , and it's never a bad idea to do a shoutout to @ablaze just to be safe. One winner is chosen randomly and can win five or more HSBI, and you can never have too many of those!

The hardest part about Halloween music is there is just so much to choose from. Some are darker and scarier than others. Others are just fun. I know a big one this year will likely be Olivia Rodrigo's Vampire. She has a great voice, but just not my style. Some of the best Halloween tracks really were made in the 1980's and early 90's. But they trace much of their success from earlier bands like Black Sabbath. I thought about including Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast, but I did that last year so time for something else this time around.

To kick things off there is one band that you just can't leave out. These guys have been rock and rolling for more than fifty years, and are still producing new albums until this day. We'll kick off with none other than AC/DC!

AC/DC

This band was formed in the seventies in Australia by brother Angus Young and Malcolm Young. They picked up vocalist Bon Scott and they began to make some headway and success worldwide. Then Bon Scott tragically died after a night of heavy drinking. A new front man was found in Brian Johnson that most AC/DC fans now know and love. So what song is better for Halloween than their classic song "Highway to Hell"?

One band that had continually created great Halloween songs over the years was the band Oingo Boingo. Touted as a punk band with a horn section, they were fronted by Danny Elfman who most people now know best for his music soundtracks for hit movies for the last thirty plus years. He's also well known for the singing voice of Jack Skellington in "The Nightmare Before Christmas". But Elfman started with his band Oingo Boingo with many spooky songs from "Dead or Alive" to their classic song used the the soundtrack for Rodney Dangerfield's "Back To School". Back in the day, every year they put on a Halloween concert in Los Angeles that was always sold out. This is the one and only "Dead Man's Party":

And how could I finish off any Halloween Three Tune Tuesday without the classic band that were the grandfathers of heavy metal rock. Black Sabbath came out of England in the late 1960's featuring none other than Ozzy Osbourne as their vocalist. In 1970 they released the antiwar song "War Pigs" at the height of the Vietnam War. It has a lot of dark themes from witches at black masses to Satan spreading his wings. This is a true Halloween classic that seriously rock, "War Pigs":

Time for a bonus song! I have been a Shakira fan since 1996 back in the days when she was a pretty brunette. But when she transitioned to her English singing career she became the blonde bombshell we all know today. What does she have to do with Halloween you might ask? Honestly not a whole lot. One thing you may not know is that she is a big AC/DC fan and on occasion likes to do a cover of AC/DC's "Back In Black" which is most certainly a great Halloween song. It may not be quite as hard as the original but she sure looks good doing it! Here is Shakira singing "Back In Black":

That will wrap up this Halloween edition of Three Tune Tuesday. I hope you enjoyed some or all of my picks today. It's hard to stay away from the seventies and eighties when it comes to Halloween music because there were so many bands with great songs that fit the holiday. And I couldn't even fit in Alice Cooper, but I did use him a couple weeks back in an early Halloween post. I hope you all have a great day today, and a great Halloween coming up on Thursday!
