My favourite mode of transport
Let me just go straight to the point by saying that my favorite mode of transport is not a slicky car or a private jet or an Uber that is very common. It is something that is more humble though it's familiar in some countries when it comes to third world country but I've come to find comfort in it for so many reasons. Some people call it Keke-napep, some in the northern part of this country call it Maruwa though in the proper English setting it should be called a tricycle because it has just three tires.
So my favorite mode of transport is this tricycle and if you have ever walked through the street here you know that this tricycle is basically the heartbeat of easy mobilization and transports presently in my country Nigeria. Though the color is yellow they can be branded to any other thing and people have found a way to use this for so many other things especially moving goods and services and products from the interland I mean the village back to the city which was very good. Another reason why I like it is because of the fresh air that you enjoy which comes through the east and the west whenever you are moving.
Why I you like it?
You cannot enjoy that if you are in taxi, there is this breeze- this, uh what will I call it now this free flow of air whenever you enter a tricycle compared to a taxi that you have to wind up the glass and stuff like that there is this free breathing space inside a keke. Then another reason why I like it is because it's cheap. Yes I know it might sound small but yes keke is cheaper when it comes to you moving from one to the other and the only thing you care about is your transport to just get me there keke will do it and if you do it in a more cheaper way.
So if you are doing a business and you know you go out every day and you go out often, maybe once or twice per day or every day, and you want to cut costs, your best option will be a tricycle in those states, so that is another reason.
Also unlike a bus where you squeeze among strangers, keke is just three at the back, two at the front, so there is no necessity to pack people and stack them up like sardines inside a can. The only disadvantage that a keke has is when it's raining. When it is raining you don't want to be inside that kind of a thing it is very crazy.
A memorable experience.
There is a memorable experience that I've had in previous time and it always comes through the raining period when it rains most of these keke do not have a proper door that can be used to cover you or stay you away from the rain so you can get drenched inside that keke in the rain which makes it very crazy. The best option whenever you know it's going to rain is to enter a taxi and not consider the price. I've had more than one experiences like that in time past where I entered a keke and later I started raining I was not even comfortable with it throughout I got home very wet.
If I could have my chance on any other mode of transportation it would be a train. I like a train. I like the fact that it is smooth, it is straight and there is less issue with it. Another one will actually be an aeroplane. I can't wait for the day I get to travel by air.
Until then tricycle remains my best bet anytime, any day.
