After travelling a lot to various destinations, I've come to see travelling as one of my healing methods. Especially since I live in a very densely populated city like South Tangerang, I've become better at organising when exactly I'm going to travel.
My journey doesn't need to be far, I can even do healing in destinations that are still within the city. For me, the important thing is that I know that I chose the destination because of my awareness, not because it just went viral on social media.
So, that afternoon, I travelled to one of the educational destinations in Jakarta. I took an uber to get there. Because access to city buses or trains is quite time-consuming, so uber became my choice.I didn't invite anyone. I wanted to walk alone and enjoy every inch of my feet.
TAMAN MINI INDONESIA INDAH
Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is a destination that is usually a must-visit for students. Why is that? Because here there are many activities related to general insights about Indonesia.
Once you enter the main gate 1, you will be greeted by a magnificent gate with a beautiful design. batik carvings in a black and white colour palette that from a distance are shaped like the pages of an opened book, or leaves? I don't know, there's no exact description. What is certain is that this place has not changed since my first visit in 2002.
From gate 1 visitors are also immediately treated to a park with a fountain in the middle of which there is a replica of Jakarta's mascot, the National Monument a.k.a MONAS in Central Jakarta.
Many things can be found here: models of houses throughout the archipelago in very similar size and design, Komodo Museum (visitors can see protected reptiles with magnificent building designs), PPIPTEK Museum (visitors can learn a lot about science in this museum), Keong Mas (this is an educational cinema with a snail-like building design), as well as many others.
So, it's only natural that Taman Mini is an educational tour that must be made into a study tour for students at certain levels. Besides that, it's also great for a family holiday. Also child-friendly. Inside, there is a free pick-up facility for visitors who are lazy to walk because the distance is too far. Understandably, the size of this Mini Park is hundreds of hectares.
After walking some distance, and stopping to drink some kpi, I also posed in front of the puppet palace. See? It's so pretty like in a fairy tale, isn't it? Unfortunately, I couldn't go in because it was under repair. Huhuu... hopefully next time I can go in.
In front of the puppet palace, there is an open-air theatre stage named Panggung BUdaya Bhineka Tunggal Ika with a mighty garuda statue.
Here, visitors can also see the wreckage of R.I 001 aircraft, starting from this aircraft, then INDONESIA AIRWAYS as Indonesia's first commercial aviation business operating in Burma.
It's not enough to walk around this place in one day, it takes at least three days to cover the entire area of Taman MIni Indonesia Indah. So, that's all for my travelling story today. Stay tuned for the next one!
