I remember being scared as a child whenever I came across “Enya” songs. Most especially ”Only Time”

Someone once said it sounded occultic lol

If I had been told back then that I would be the soul lover of 85% of Enya’s songs, I would have laughed hard at that fortune teller..lol
Oh! Thank Nollywood movies for not helping matters at all and using “Only Time” as a background sound for scary movies.

There was one of the movies the female lead was hunted by a ghost in a house that she newly bought and died at the end in that same house. No doubt ” Only Time” song was the perfect sound for that movie but then I would say the song featured the movie and not the other way around because I could barely recall the movie's name. However, as much as the sound scared the living hell out of me, it equally stayed in my memory, I believe it did so because it knew I would grow older someday and come to love it, and that day is now.

I came to have a thing for instrumental songs and then came across “Only Time” by Enya once. Honestly, I thought to skip when I remembered childhood fears but whatever stopped my hands from fast forwarding knew it was a lyric I needed to hear.

Aside from the lyrics, the calm features of the instrumentals were daring, I picked on the moment she began the free-style sounds. Now instead of fear, am in awe of the beauty that surrounds it.
“Only Time” is one of the calmest songs I've come across with relatable lyrics that describe the power of time through songs. For a moment I wondered about the thoughts behind Enya's inspiration, I call it a combination of dark and unique melody.
I'm happy to have come across Enya and her songs. She deserving of a crown as a music legend 💫
