I have to be honest, when I saw the news about Benoît Badiashile leaving Chelsea on loan, I did not really feel angry about it. In fact, I think this actually could be the right move for him.

Badiashile came to Chelsea with a lot of expectations. I remember when he joined and many of us were hoping he would become an important defender for the club. But football can be funny sometimes. Things don't always go according to plan.
From what we have seen, his name has been among the players expected to leave as Chelsea continue to reduce the size of the squad. And personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with that.
If a team no longer sees you as an important part of their plans, what is the point of staying and spending most of your time on the bench?
At the end of the day, footballers need to play.
That is why I believe this move to Napoli could be good for Badiashile. He needs regular football, confidence and probably a fresh environment where he can start again without carrying all the pressure that comes with playing for Chelsea.
And who knows, maybe Italy will bring out the best in him.
Serie A is a league where defenders are expected to be disciplined and tactically aware. Getting regular games there could help Badiashile improve certain areas of his game and possibly return to Chelsea as a completely different player.
Chelsea and Napoli have reportedly agreed a loan worth €3 million, with another €1 million in possible add-ons. Napoli will also have a €27 million option to buy him, while they are expected to cover his full salary.
But honestly, I'm more interested in what happens to the player than the numbers.
I would rather see Badiashile playing regularly somewhere else than sitting on the Chelsea bench every week.
Maybe this is the fresh start he needs.
I wish him the very best at Napoli. As a Chelsea fan, I will definitely be watching to see how he performs in Italy.
And who knows? Maybe one day we'll look back and say this was the move that helped him get his career back on track. 💙
What do you think, fellow Chelsea fans? Is Napoli the right place for Badiashile to restart his career?
