Reports coming out of Portugal suggest that Chelsea are keeping a close watch on the 26-year-old goalkeeper. It is easy to understand why. Costa has been one of Porto's most consistent performers over the last few seasons and has also established himself as an important player for the Portuguese national team.
Looking at his numbers from the 2025/26 campaign in the Portuguese league, they are quite impressive. He played 49 matches, conceded only 27 goals, and managed to keep 26 clean sheets. Those statistics tell the story of a goalkeeper who rarely makes mistakes and gives his team confidence at the back, even though I believe that premier league is more competitive.
