A few days ago, I wrote about the rumours that Chelsea were interested in Fabián Ruiz.
At that time, it was just another transfer story, so I was not getting too excited about it.
But today, I came across another report claiming something much bigger that Fabián Ruiz has reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea.
Now, let me be honest here.

We have all seen how transfer rumours work. One minute a player is supposedly close to joining a club, and the next minute another report comes out saying there is nothing happening.
So, for now, I'm taking this one with a pinch of salt.
But if there is some truth to it, then things are starting to get interesting.
Ruiz is already a very experienced midfielder. He's 30 years old, has played for PSG at the highest level, won major trophies, and has also represented Spain on the biggest stage.
And let's not forget that he was part of the Spain squad that won the 2026 World Cup.
That's the kind of experience you can't really teach.
Personally, I think one thing Chelsea have sometimes lacked is that balance between young talent and experienced heads.
We have plenty of exciting young players. That's not the problem.
But the question is whether we have enough players who can calm things down when a match becomes difficult, keep possession under pressure and make the right decision when the team needs someone to take control.
That's where I can understand the attraction of Ruiz.
And with Xabi Alonso now managing Chelsea, I'm even more curious.
Alonso knows Spanish football extremely well, and he also understands what it takes to control games from midfield. If Ruiz is genuinely one of the players he wants, I'm willing to see what the idea is.
Of course, I'm not ignoring the concerns.
Ruiz is 30, and he's also had injury problems in the past. Chelsea need to be very careful about the finances and the length of any potential deal.
I don't want us signing a player simply because his name sounds good.
I want a player who can actually make Chelsea better.
So for now, I'm watching this one quietly. 😂
