‎The 1-1 draw between Leeds United and Manchester United at Elland Road was one of those games that left me with mixed feelings. Both teams had moments to be proud of, but neither did enough to walk away with all three points.

‎For Manchester United, I think there were some positive signs in their performance, especially considering the pressure surrounding the club. Michael Carrick made changes to the team's formation, and I noticed a little more determination from the players. They looked more willing to compete, and Bryan Mbeumo's opening goal was a good example of what they could achieve when they moved the ball with purpose.
‎
‎Mbeumo did well to finish the chance after combining with Youri Tielemans. However, my concern with United is that they still struggle to maintain their level throughout a match. They started with some good intentions, but as the game progressed, Leeds began to find their rhythm and put them under pressure.
‎
‎Dominic Calvert-Lewin's equaliser exposed another problem United need to address: defending set pieces. You cannot expect to win matches consistently when you keep giving opponents opportunities to punish you from corners. His finish was instinctive, but the defending leading up to the goal will certainly disappoint Carrick.
‎
‎Looking at Leeds, I thought they deserved credit for the way they responded after going behind. They did not allow the goal to shattered their confidence, and their second-half performance showed a team willing to take the game to its opponent. Calvert-Lewin's goal gave them the momentum they needed, and they could easily have pushed harder for a winner.
‎
‎I personally believe this result tells us something about both sides. Leeds will probably feel they missed an opportunity to secure three points at home, while Manchester United can take some encouragement from their commitment and tactical adjustments.
‎
‎However, encouragement alone will not solve United's problems. One win in seven Premier League matches is a worrying record for a club with their ambitions. The players need to show more courage on the ball, improve their decision-making, and become more disciplined defensively.
‎
‎I also think Carrick needs to find a system that brings consistency rather than relying on occasional improvements. Changing formation can help, but the players must understand their responsibilities and execute the plan properly.
‎
‎For now, I would not call this draw a turning point for Manchester United. It is simply a small step that could become meaningful if they build on it in their next matches.
