Going into the match, many people expected Ivory Coast to be the stronger side, especially after their recent success at the Africa Cup of Nations. However, Ecuador had other ideas. They came out with confidence and looked the more dangerous team during the opening stages.

Just when it seemed the game was heading for a draw, the decisive moment arrived. In the 90th minute, Wilfried Singo made an excellent run down the right wing before delivering a perfect pass into the box. Amad was in the right place at the right time and calmly guided the ball into the net.
The goal sparked wild celebrations among the Ivory Coast players and fans. It was a dramatic way to begin their World Cup campaign and a reminder of how important Amad can be for this team.
Ecuador will be disappointed after wasting several good opportunities, while Ivory Coast will be delighted to leave with all three points. If Amad's performance proved anything, it's that he has given his coach a very difficult decision ahead of the next match.
