Football can be so funny sometimes. You can win a match, feel good about the result, and then receive news that suddenly changes the mood around the club. That is exactly the kind of situation Arsenal are dealing with ahead of their Champions League clash against Lille.

From my point of view, losing two players to injuries during a warm-down session after a match is the kind of thing every manager would hate to see. Piero Hincapié and Martín Zubimendi reportedly suffered ankle problems despite not starting Arsenal's recent game against Leeds. The frustrating part is that both players were expected to be involved against Lille in the champions league.
What makes this situation more difficult for Mikel Arteta is the timing. Champions League matches are not the kind of games where you want to start making unnecessary adjustments to your plans. Every player has a role to play, and losing two players who could have contributed to the game is certainly not good news.
However, I also understand Arteta's explanation for organising additional training after the Leeds match. Players who have not played enough minutes need to maintain their fitness and match rhythm. You cannot expect substitutes to come into an important European game and immediately perform at their best if they have not had enough opportunities to stay sharp.
But unfortunately, injuries are part of football, and sometimes they happen when nobody expects them. While the circumstances surrounding these two injuries are frustrating, I don't think it automatically means the decision to organise the session was wrong.
On the positive side, William Saliba returning to individual training is encouraging news for Arsenal. His presence in defence is important, especially when the team faces strong attacking opponents. However, supporters will need to be patient because returning to training does not necessarily mean a player is ready to compete again immediately. With his recovery expected to take several more weeks, rushing him back would make no sense.
For me, Arsenal's priority should be managing the available players carefully rather than taking unnecessary risks. Gabriel Magalhães and Ezri Konsa may have to shoulder more responsibility in central defence, while Arteta will need to assess his midfield options depending on the results of the injury scans.
Looking at the bigger picture, this is where squad depth becomes important. A team competing for major honours cannot always depend on having every first-choice player available. There will be difficult periods during a long season, and how a manager responds to those challenges can make a real difference.
Arsenal have received encouraging news about Saliba, but the injuries to Hincapié and Zubimendi are a reminder that football rarely goes exactly as planned.
Going into the Lille game, I believe Arsenal need to remain focused, adapt to the situation, and avoid allowing these setbacks to disrupt their momentum.
Even though, I still believe Arsenal can cope with these injury setbacks and still deliver a convincing performance against Lille.
