‎As a Chelsea fan, I am very happy with our 2-0 victory away at Everton, but what makes me even happier is the possibility that we are finally beginning to see the improvements we have been waiting for. After everything we have experienced defensively this season, this result gives me something positive to hold on to.

‎Before this game, I was particularly interested in Xabi Alonso's comments about making tactical adjustments in midfield. He had been discussing the possibility of using three central midfielders instead of two, depending on the opponent and what the team needs in a particular match.
‎
‎Personally, I think this is worth exploring.
‎
‎One thing I have noticed about Chelsea is that our defensive problems are not always just about the defenders themselves. Sometimes, the midfield has to do more to protect the backline, especially when we lose possession or allow the opposition to attack quickly.
‎
‎If our midfielders can maintain better discipline, close down spaces, and provide the right protection, it could make life easier for our defenders. We have talented players in this squad, but talent alone is not enough. The team needs the right balance, good communication, and a clear understanding of everyone's responsibilities.
‎
‎That is why this victory against Everton feels encouraging to me.
‎
‎Chelsea showed that we can go away from home, compete in a difficult atmosphere, score goals, and finish the match without conceding. Pedro Neto's brace gave us the goals we needed, but I was equally pleased to see the team maintain its defensive discipline.
‎
‎After 22 consecutive Premier League matches without a clean sheet, finally keeping one feels like a huge relief.
‎
‎However, I don't want us to get carried away after one good result. I have seen enough football to understand that one performance does not automatically solve every problem. What matters now is consistency.
‎
‎I want Alonso to keep working on the midfield structure and find the right combination that gives Chelsea both attacking freedom and defensive security. If these tactical adjustments can help us control games better, I believe we will become a much more difficult team to play against.
‎
‎Hopefully, this victory is the beginning of a positive run. We have taken an important step, and now we need to build on it. More clean sheets, better organisation, and greater consistency are what I want to see from the Blues.
‎
‎Away from the result, though, I cannot ignore what happened to Emiliano Martínez. Seeing him stretchered off after that collision was worrying, and no football victory is more important than a player's health.
‎
‎I sincerely wish Martínez a speedy and full recovery. Hopefully, he gets the medical attention he needs and returns to action when it is safe for him to do so.
‎
‎For now, I am happy with the three points and the clean sheet. Hopefully, Alonso and his boys can keep this momentum going.
‎
‎Come on, Chelsea! 💙 We are moving in the right direction, but let's keep proving it on the pitch.
