‎I watched Colombia's match against DR Congo expecting an entertaining contest, but I didn't think it would take so long for the breakthrough to arrive. In the end, Colombia got the job done with a 1-0 victory, but the scoreline doesn't fully tell the story of how dominant they were throughout the game.

‎From the opening whistle, Colombia looked like the team more likely to score. They controlled possession, created chances, and kept pushing forward. Yet no matter what they tried, DR Congo goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi seemed to have an answer. It felt like one of those nights where the goalkeeper was determined to frustrate everyone watching.

‎There were moments when I thought Colombia had finally found the goal they deserved. Daniel Muñoz had the ball in the net early on, only for the effort to be ruled out for offside. Later in the match, Luis Díaz also thought he had scored, but that goal was correctly disallowed as well. At that point, I started wondering whether Colombia would regret all the opportunities they had wasted.

‎One thing I admire about this Colombian side is that they never seem to panic. Even with time running down, they kept attacking and searching for an opening. Their persistence eventually paid off in the 76th minute when Muñoz fired in a shot that took a fortunate deflection on its way past Mpasi.

‎Some people may call it a lucky goal, and perhaps it was. But football often rewards the team that keeps knocking on the door. Colombia had spent most of the evening applying pressure, so I don't think they can have too many complaints about finally getting a break.

‎Muñoz deserves plenty of credit as well. He has quietly become one of Colombia's most important players during this tournament. His energy, attacking runs, and willingness to contribute at both ends of the pitch make him a valuable asset for the team.

‎As for DR Congo, despite the defeat, there were positives to take from the performance. They defended bravely and remained competitive against a strong Colombian side. Most importantly, they still have an opportunity to qualify for the knockout stage in their final group match.

‎With two wins from two games, Colombia have secured their place in the next round and continue to look like a team capable of causing problems for anyone. They may need to be more clinical in front of goal, but their confidence and determination are becoming increasingly evident with every match they play.

‎For now, Colombian fans will simply be happy that their team found a way to win, even if it took a little longer than expected.
