As a football fan, I believe Harry Kane deserves to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or, and honestly, I am so happy for him. Winning an award of this magnitude is not something that comes easily, and seeing him finally receive this recognition makes me appreciate his journey even more.

What I love most about this achievement is that Kane has never been a player who relies only on reputation. He has continued to prove himself through his performances and goals for years. Scoring 73 goals for club and country last season is an incredible achievement, and I believe it says a lot about his consistency and determination.
At the same time, I don't think we should take anything away from the other nominees. Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal are exceptional players who have also given football fans plenty of reasons to admire them. If either of them had won the award, I believe they would have had their own reasons to celebrate. Football is full of talented players, and sometimes choosing one above the others is never going to make everyone happy.
For me, that is what makes this year's Ballon d'Or conversation interesting. We can celebrate Kane's achievement without disrespecting the players who finished behind him. Supporting one player's success does not mean we have to deny another player's quality.
I am particularly happy for Kane because of the journey he has taken to reach this level. His move from Tottenham to Bayern Munich was a big decision, and it has given him another chapter in his career and that has given him the right environment to thrive. Now, seeing him recognised as the world's best player is a special moment for him and English football.
Honestly, as a lover of football, I enjoy moments like this because they remind us why we love the game. Beyond club rivalries, arguments, and endless comparisons, football still gives us stories worth celebrating.
