Manchester United seem to be looking at another left-back, and this time the name being mentioned is Newcastle’s Lewis Hall.
I actually find this one quite interesting.
Hall is only 21, but he has already had some good Premier League experience and has also made his way into the England setup. So when you look at Manchester United’s situation at left-back, it is easy to understand why they would be interested in him.

Right now, Luke Shaw is basically the main senior option available to Michael Carrick after Tyrell Malacia’s departure. And we all know that relying on just one senior player for an entire season can be risky.
So bringing in a younger player who could potentially become the long-term answer makes sense to me.
The problem is Newcastle.
United have reportedly made an enquiry, but Newcastle have already told them that Hall is not for sale this summer. That does not really surprise me.
Why would Newcastle rush to sell a 21-year-old who still has three years left on his contract?
They are trying to build their own squad, and from their point of view, losing Hall would probably create another hole they would have to fill.
There is also talk that Manchester United may feel this transfer is possible because Newcastle won't have Champions League football this season and have gone through some changes.
Maybe that could eventually make a difference. But at the moment, Newcastle seem pretty clear about their position.
Personally, I like Hall as a potential United signing. He is young, he knows the Premier League and still has plenty of room to improve.
But I would not want United to spend the whole transfer window chasing a player whose club has already said he is not available.
Sometimes you just have to accept the answer and move on.
If Newcastle change their mind and put Hall on the market, then I think United should definitely have a conversation about it.
For now though, I think the ball is firmly in Newcastle's court.
And this is probably one of those transfers we will keep hearing about until the window closes.
